My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 4

Blood Donation Can Promote Hematopoiesis

Time flies quickly. After successfully putting a wave of interns into the emergency department, Doctor Shang, who had retired for a rest, finally got his hard-won vacation again.

The vampire's visit did not cause any waves. Under the influence of unknown forces, almost everyone had forgotten what happened on the day, and his medical records were missing. Shang Haojia even checked the surveillance footage, but was told that there was a sudden power outage that night, and the surveillance footage was lost. Such a skilled and meticulous method was obviously not something novices could pull off.

It's just that these didn't matter to the monk doctor; his memory had not been erased, the tissue taken that day was placed on the microscope slide in front of him, and the butt pocket of his jeans contains a business card that the vampire forcibly stuffed in.

Exquisite, dark, and full of mediaeval Gothic style, from any angle, it looked exactly like a card presented on a crisp noodle. Of course, crisp noodles were not important, what was important was papers and science.

Shang Haojia put aside his cumbersome thoughts and focused on examining the tissue slice under the microscope. Surprisingly, the vampire body tissue that he had exchanged for his sacrificed hue could not be seen as any different from a human’s tissue. However, this vampire’s muscles seem to look really good…

Thinking of seeing the smooth muscles on Wei Long’s arm that day, Doctor Shang subconsciously poked the cover glass with his tweezers, and for the first time, he lost his mind during an experiment.

"What the hell are you sending for inspection… frog blood?" The door of the laboratory was suddenly pushed open, and a young man in white clothes walked in.

Shang Haojia took the slide in his hand and gave it to the young man, "I didn’t even see a single blood cell. I thought the microscope was broken, so I took a tube of my own blood and tested it again…"

"It’s good to take more blood. Statistics show that women’s hematopoietic ability is much stronger than that of men. Do you think it’s because our female compatriots lose blood every month?" The young man replied. (Angel: Hematopoietic ability is the ability to form more blood.)

Shang Haojia snapped his fingers and beckoned the man, taking the A4 paper in his hand and laying on the table to compare item by item, "Muxi, you were studying for a PhD when I was in graduate school. Now I have come to do my doctoral dissertation and you are still studying for a PhD… Do you plan on living and learning like this?"

"We need to have independent research and develop results. You have a big clinic and yet are here with us, show off." An Muxi gave him an angry look, then raised his leg and kicked his stool, "You have saved enough for two years of vacation. It’s so easy for you to take two days off, and you decide to use them to soak in the experiment room?"

The two met when Shang Haojia was in graduate school. Later, one went to the clinic and the other stayed in school, however, they still kept in touch. Shang Haojia didn’t have his own experimental funds, so he relied on the materials and instruments of An Muxi’s experimental team. This time, he also gave An Muxi a copy of Wei Long’s tissue sample.

It now appears that since the problem does not lie in the tissue cells, there is probably something special in the blood of vampires that is different from that of humans.

"And if I didn’t? I would have to make my parents fully aware of the error that forced me to switch from forensic medicine to clinical practice." Shang Haojia clapped his hands boldly and neatly sorted the experimental materials back into their places. Placing the things he brought with him into the briefcase, he shook the hand that was holding the experiment report, "But I still have to go back home. I’m off to catch the subway… Thanks a lot, I will ask you to sing when I come back."

"That’s easy to say. Which KTV do you want to close down? I will definitely be there when you call." An Muxi nodded and responded happily before driving him out of the laboratory. (Angel: A KTV is a karaoke establishment that offers small rooms for groups to enjoy a more private karaoke experience.)

After changing into his white suit, Shang Haojia carried the briefcase with the experiment materials in it and rushed off to the subway, only to get off the elevator and stop thoughtfully.

Behind him, two black shadows hurriedly stopped and hid in a corner.

Shang Haojia held his chin and studied the stop sign for a while, before he finally walked to the ticket vending machine and put the dazzling silver briefcase at his feet.

"Doctor Shang, there are two people behind you that have been following you this whole time. Do you need me to help?" A tall figure suddenly approached beside him.

Shang Haojia raised his head slightly and saw He Jialun’s tough and masculine face, "Oh, Mr. He. What a coincidence, do you also take the subway?"

"There’s no other way. We have good physical fitness, but when we don’t change our bodies, we are no different from you humans. As for some of my own problems, I have no way to transform smoothly, so I can only take your subway." He Jialun sighed helplessly as he took out a banknote from his wallet and skillfully stuffed it into the automatic ticket vending machine, "Let’s not talk about me. Wei Long told me to treat you like I treat him. Do you need me to help you get rid of those following you?"

"Thank you, but no, I can deal with it by myself." Shang Haojia smiled and shook his head, selecting his destination on the screen, "They should have seen me carrying this briefcase and thought that there was something valuable in it. Since you want to survive in human society, you must understand the laws of human existence. If you act now, it’s just an attempted crime, and if you accidentally hurt them, it would be even harder to make a clear judgement."

"What a mess… I don’t understand. Anyway, just say it if you want me to help you fight. I’ll be waiting for you by the side." He Jialun was dizzy and interrupted him impatiently.

Shang Haojia couldn’t help but chuckle. He shook his head and put his hand into his pocket, "I don’t need it for the time being, just watch from the side."

Werewolves are straightforward and violent, and many are keen to fight alone. He Jialun could naturally understand his unwillingness to accept help. He just looked at the ordinary human being who was so thin compared to himself, and couldn’t help but shake his head. However, he still took the lead and walked towards the security check.

As if he hadn’t noticed anything, Shang Haojia took out the paper currency from his pocket. Just as he stuffed the paper currency into the automatic ticket vending machine, he suddenly saw a figure come out at his side.

The man went straight for his briefcase. As he picked it up, he was about to flee with it in his arms, but suddenly stumbled severely on something. He instantly lost his centre of gravity and fell heavily to the ground.

"Did you see it? This is called a completed crime." Shang Haojia firmly took the briefcase that almost opened as the man fell. He gracefully retracted his right leg that he used to trip the man and grabbed his wrist. Just by twisting and pulling him, accompanied by the man’s screams, he firmly pressed him to the ground.

The noise he made was not small, and people gathered around them in an instant.

The man was in a cold sweat with pain. He couldn’t help but suck in a cold breath as he barely managed to prop up half of his body, "This, this elder brother… Stay on the sidelines of being a human being. Everyone pays attention to not revealing their wealth. It is too dangerous for you to carry such an eye-catching briefcase. Let me help you, Brother, I will make sure no one touches it…" (Angel: Staying on the sidelines of being a human being means that you should not be too cruel to be another human being.)

"There are some epithelial tissues in it, as well as a few tubes of serum and plasma samples. If you don’t want to publish a paper, it’s useless to steal it." Shang Haojia patted him on the shoulder in a friendly way, and was satisfied to see the man’s increasingly dazed expression. He let go of his grip on him, clapped his hands, and stood up.

"Young man, be careful. This guy is very slippery. Whenever he can’t talk his way out, he will run away!" Someone in the crowd of onlookers apparently recognized this habitual thief. When he saw that Shang Haojia had let go, he quickly informed him.

Shang Haojia just smiled and nodded. Glancing at the person in front of him who was struggling to move, he took the subway ticket and collected his change without any hassle, "It doesn’t matter, I dislocated his arm. There is a security camera above me, and its footage can be transferred as evidence. I am in a hurry to go home, so someone can take him to the police station, I won’t go with him."

Both of his parents are front-line criminal police officers, and Doctor Shang, who has been deeply influenced by his family environment since childhood, obviously has a hidden skill. It is precisely because of this that before he had time to choose his direction, the hospital leaders placed him in the emergency department that needed his combat effectiveness. As such, he has successfully guarded the peace and tranquillity of the emergency department for two years.

Although he doesn’t mind the brave and righteous actions, according to the story development progress of the last few times, Shang Haojia was really not very interested in the follow-up investigation and recognition. It was better to go home as soon as possible and get a good night's sleep. The man was handed over to two young men who had the courage to step forward. He picked up his briefcase, nodded towards He Jialun, and hurried to the security check.
