My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 10
Saving a life is like fighting a fire; this is a basic rule that every emergency doctor will keep in mind.
As a very responsible emergency doctor, when Wei Long asked how fast he should get to the hospital, Shang Haojia undoubtedly chose the hell mode option of ‘the faster the better’.
Of course – this option was actually hell mode. It was only when Shang Haojia's legs were limply held at the entrance of the hospital that he finally realised it deeply.
"Are you okay? Because I felt that you are really anxious, I tried my best to increase my speed. I hope that it didn't cause you too much discomfort." Wei Long helped him stand firmly on the ground, and asked with concern. He thoughtfully arranged his clothes for him, "I only worry about whether you will feel uncomfortable again – After all, relatively speaking, the human body is always slightly fragile and will be injured if you are not careful..."
Trying to switch his emotions back from flight mode, Shang Haojia took a deep breath and shook his head with lingering fears, "It's okay, I’m just a little dizzy... I’ll go in first. Thank you for your help today, I'll invite you to dinner later."
Hearing what he said, Wei Long tilted his head noncommittally, with an interesting expression in his eyes, "Thank you for your invitation – I am really honoured..."
Shang Haojia's thoughts were already focused on the first aid measures to be taken next, and without paying attention to what he said, he waved his hand at him and quickly ran into the hospital.
Seeing the back that rushed into the hospital quickly, Wei Long rubbed his chin. His eyes once again flashed with some extremely pale blood, and the corners of his lips rose in a meaningful arc.
The night sky was dark. The vampire turned around and looked at the dim crescent moon, and his pupils once again turned into a midnight-like black colour. He leapt up lightly and disappeared into the gloomy night.
The lights of the ambulance swayed in front of the hospital. Before rushing into the outpatient building, Shang Haojia's heart sank because of the tragic image in front of him – The wounded and their families almost filled the corridors outside the emergency department. There were even several beds in the outpatient hall, and the nurses kept debriding and bandaging, but there were still wounded being sent over one after another.
"Old Shang, why are you so fast – Did you go to sleep in the morgue again!" Surprised shouts came from the door of the emergency room.
Looking at the already blocked corridor, Shang Haojia jumped over the seats in the waiting area and took the white coat thrown over by his colleague, "Stop talking nonsense. How's the situation? Was everyone sent to our hospital?"
"Our hospital is the closest, and they are now being diverted to other hospitals." The colleague quickly followed him into the emergency room and shook his aching arm, "They’re not fatal, and disease control has already sent over the rabies vaccine. The problem now is that we must debride and suture as soon as possible – Debridement is done by the nurses, but there isn’t enough staff to do the stitches, that’s why we had to call you to come in the middle of the night…"
"I see – Give me a small operation room, no need for an assistant." Shang Haojia responded succinctly. He then proceeded to wash and disinfect his hands neatly, put on a mask and sterile gloves, and quickly walk into the small emergency operation room.
Lying on the examination table was a young man in his twenties. His hair was dyed colourfully and there was a wolf head tattoo on his shoulder, which was obviously not a good thing. There were three shocking blood stains on his chest, and the wound was extremely deep. Fortunately, the ECG and blood pressure were still stable. Hearing the movement at the door, he turned his head and looked over, his consciousness was obviously clear.
"The wound has been cleaned, I will anaesthetize you first – Don't be afraid, it's not a big deal to have a few scars on your body. If you go out and fight with others, once you take off your clothes, those ordinary hustlers would not dare to fight you." Shang Haojia carefully checked the wound that had been cleaned and disinfected, and had a sterile square towel covering it. The warm voice calmed the young man's emotions, and he took out two lidocaine from the debridement bag, wiping the surrounding area with a sterile cotton ball again.
The young man's face was pale, and his expression was a little wilted. Hearing what he said, he lifted his spirits and smiled with a cold breath, "Forget it, if it was a knife wound, I could go out and show off – What's this, should I tell others that a dog scratched me…"
"How can a dog have such big claws? Can't you say that you fell into the tiger park and fought the tiger to the death?" Putting on new sterile gloves, Shang Haojia smiled relaxedly with him, distracting him as much as possible, and quickly completed the anaesthesia. Then he neatly threaded the needle, ready to start stitching the wound.
The young man sneered, but he didn't dare to move. He just shook his head helplessly, "Nonsense, everyone knows that we were going to the concert, it would be too much to say that. Even now, I don’t know what gave me this…"
"It stands to reason that it should be very big, didn’t you see it clearly?" The wound was not too long, but it was extremely deep. Fortunately, it did not touch the ribs or internal organs. Shang Haojia quickly sutured the wound layer by layer. Hearing what the young man said, he couldn't help but ask.
"Who could see clearly, it was dark underground and the venue shook violently with the music from the stage. By the time I reacted, my eyes went dark, and I didn't know anything except the pain." The young man sighed heavily, and when he saw him stop, he quickly patted the edge of the bed, "Doctor – don't just chat with me, why don't you sew it quickly?"
"When I’m done, go out by yourself. Remember that the wound should not get wet and do not move around too much. Ask the nurse for the rest and call for the next person." Shang Haojia had already neatly packed up the things on the examination table, and answered without raising his head when he heard the sound.
Only then did the young man react. He quickly got up on the edge of the bed and looked at the neat stitches on his chest. He couldn't help but shake his head and exclaim, "I say – Doctor, your stitches are really neat, they look like a stapler..."
"This is the first time I have heard such a compliment." With a chuckle, he shook his head.
Shang Haojia took off the contaminated sterile gloves, but the young man's movements of putting on his clothes suddenly stopped, and there was a strange look in his eyes, "Doctor, I’m not teasing you – but can you look at my wound and see if it’s healed?"
"You’re not teasing me?" Shang Haojia raised his eyebrows and questioned.
Just as he was about to turn around, the young man's voice suddenly became extremely painful, "Doctor – Doctor, I seem to be out of breath, it hurts, save me –"
Thinking about the legends he has heard about werewolves, Shang Haojia couldn't stop his heart from sinking, and his last trace of luck had dispersed. He immediately turned around to temporarily control the young man behind him, but the painful cry in his ear had already turned into a harsh wolf howl.
"What are you doing…" Shang Haojia sighed heavily, swiftly avoided the young man's wildly waving sharp claws, and neatly locked the door of the operating room. The young man's eyes were full of blood, and his expression became chaotic and hideous. It was obvious that he had completely lost his mind.
After these few days, Doctor Shang had obviously already possessed a fairly strong ability to withstand all kinds of unthinkable situations. He calmly picked up a roll of gauze and stuffed it into the young man's mouth, blocked his shoulders with one hand, bent his knees under his feet, and drew out his belt skillfully to tie his knees, putting the person firmly on the ground.
There was no sound of chaos and commotion outside the door, and it seemed that this kind of wolf transformation was not a common occurrence. In order to not cause unnecessary panic, he obviously couldn't just drag him out of the room.
Shang Haojia swept around the room, took medical tapes and wrapped his thumbs together, and sat on the side of the examination table. From his trouser pocket, he took out the business card which had a clear-cut style, and dialled the number with his phone.
The dial tone rang only once, and then the elegant voice of a familiar vampire came through, "My dear–"
"There is no time for dear, I have a patient here that has become half-man and half-wolf that keeps screaming, what is wrong with him?" He couldn’t forget about the situation outside, so after confirming that the young man-turned-wolf in the room was under control, Shang Haojia jumped off of the examination table. He held the phone in one hand and put the other in his trouser pocket, and walked out of the room.
"The wolf transformation has actually occurred – this is my mistake. I was tracking the werewolf leader here, but I didn't expect that this time it would be an indiscriminate attack by a low-level wolf." Wei Long's voice sank instantly, and the grace that was almost slick and frivolous disappeared in an instant. On the contrary, it seemed to faintly reveal a little bit of coldness.
It was the first time he heard the other person speak in this tone. Shang Haojia raised his eyebrows and looked around in the examination room, "I will not ask for the explanation of the term – it’s enough for you to just tell me whether all the patients here will become werewolves, and what to do after the change."
"No, in a one-off attack by a low-level wolf, only one victim will become a werewolf. I will take Jialun over, only werewolves can handle this situation – My friend, are you injured? I have confidence in your skills, but you are in a bad condition after all…" The other side replied confidently. The original murderous aura disappeared almost instantly, and his tone turned into a deep concern.
Hearing that only one person would change, Shang Haojia sighed with relief and walked into the office with his trousers in his hand, "I’m fine – Call me when you arrive. I will fix my pants first, let’s talk later."
After the initial panic, the office finally returned to an orderly situation. The colleague in charge of the duty was overwhelmed with the patients who came in today, and when he heard him enter, he greeted him, "Is it done so soon? You–"
As soon as he raised his head, the colleague’s voice stopped abruptly. He looked him up and down, and his gaze suddenly showed some horror and distress, "Old Shang, I remember that your patient is a young man – were you dealing with an animal?"

ReplyDelete"There's no time for dear."
I really like this moment. I feel I want to say it to the vampire for a long time. XD
True hahahahaha
DeleteI think Doctor Shang didn't thought when he said the fastest the better would made him experience a trip in some kind roller-coaster 🤭🤭
ReplyDeleteWow at first I'm worry that all the wounded would turned to be werewolves. Thank goodness only one person could be turned into werewolf. Otherwise it would be chaos.
