My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 11

Serum that Disinfects and Sterilizes

"The situation is difficult to explain – Let me borrow your belt, it's not like your pants will fall down." Shang Haojia rubbed his temples, unconsciously grabbing his colleague's belt, and finally rescuing his falling pants, "It's time I show the director how much weight I have lost recently, and you guys should stop saying that I slack off…"

"It's not that the director doesn't know. It's after a long discussion that we realised that as long as you are around, even if you just stay in the office, the number of patients visiting the emergency room will be very low." The colleague shook his head mysteriously with a profound expression. He raised his hand to hold Shang Haojia's shoulder, and pushed him out of the office, "In fact, we all secretly call you a free card, you are the only one that doesn't know that – Free Card Comrade, although I don't know why you have robbed me of my belt, in order to stop the number of injured people from increasing, you should just hurry up and work your magic."

"What is this? – You were all born in China and grew up under the red flag, did five years of college exams and three years of internships cause you to grow up as successors of modern socialism? Can you not believe in this kind of nonsense metaphysics?" Before he could react, Shang Haojia was pushed out of the office. He complained bitterly, but still shook his head resignedly and hurried back to the clinic.

When he reached the first floor, he spotted He Jialun's conspicuously tall figure standing in the hallway.

Shang Haojia squeezed through the crowd, said hello to the dutiful guards, and dragged him into the small operating room, "What happened, did Mr. Wei not come?"

"He said he was worried that he would faint again, so he is waiting outside. He said that when you are done here, he will give you an explanation." He Jialun shook his head and repeated Wei Long's words faithfully as he followed him into the small operating room. Seeing the young man tied up on the floor, he looked at Shang Haojia in a bit of awe and vigilantly took two steps back, "Doctor – Doctor Shang, you can take down a werewolf with your bare hands?"

"He hadn't changed when I took him down, so it was not difficult to deal with him." Shang Haojia shook his head. He held his chin, looked at the werewolf covered in grey-brown fur in front of him, and then looked at He Jialun next to him, "Mr. He, with all due respect, look at the colour of his coat –"

Before he had time to finish, He Jialun raised his hands without hesitation and frankly declared himself, "Ah, I admit that I am a husky – but my father is part snow wolf! Otherwise, it would not have been possible for him to disguise himself and successfully trick my mother into marriage."

Shang Haojia shrugged. He picked the newly-transformed werewolf off of the floor and placed him on the examination table, then patted He Jialun on the back, "Then – dear Mr. Snow Wolf, might you have a way to turn him back into his human state?"

He Jialun shivered, waved his hand quickly, and flashed a few steps to the side, "Don't talk like that old vampire – I can't stand this, I don't bite people."

It was only then that he realised that he had been greatly skewed by Wei Long unknowingly. Shang Haojia nonchalantly tilted his head, crossed his arms, and stopped talking.

Only then did He Jialun relax and take a deep breath. The fluffy and soft dog hair grew out of his body again, and two ears fluttered on the top of his head, "I didn't bring a change of pants today, so I will only transform to this point… Ah-choo!" As he was speaking, He Jialun couldn't help but sneeze violently. He rubbed his nose with his fluffy paws, and sat down on the examination table, "This werewolf will not be able to maintain his transformation for very long. After a short while, he will transform back into his human state, and the next time he will transform will be during the next full moon. If we don't want him to change again, just inject my serum into him."

"Have you all advanced with the times like this?" Unexpectedly, it was such an advanced method. Shang Haojia took out a first aid kit from the cabinet, and he couldn't help but sigh, "I always thought that werewolves should be a very ancient and mysterious race, one that is not associated with the word serum…"

"China has existed for five-thousand years, yet do you guys not still use oracle bones?" He Jialun answered bluntly. His erected ears couldn't help but shake, and it was clear that he was very satisfied with his answer.

"That's right, it's easier for you to integrate into human society than a vampire."  Holding the cotton ball dipped in iodine, Shang Haojia did not know where to start. He held his chin and looked at the fluffy paw for a while, then finally picked up a pair of surgical scissors decisively, "Close your eyes, I am afraid that if you cry out and howl again, then our hospital will truly be famous."

"You, what are you going to do–" He Jialun asked vigilantly and the ears on the top of his head drooped down nervously. Just as he was about to avoid it, there was a sudden chill on his paw.

The sound of sheering seemed extraordinarily harsh in the quiet operating room. Feeling the proud dog's fur mercilessly being cut until there was a small patch of baldness by this horrible human doctor, the wolf dog He Jialun huffed aggressively and suddenly burst into tears.

"Don't cry, don't cry – After you transform, your personality really changes a lot…" Shang Haojia sighed, feeling a headache starting. He gave the shivering human-shaped dog in front of him a loving hug, repeatedly sterilised the area with cotton balls, then picked up the syringe and neatly pierced him.

If there is anything that is more devastating to Doctor Shang than experiencing an internship in paediatrics, it is to draw blood from a human-shaped husky. After experiencing such an incredible experience, the veterinarians finally replaced his paediatric colleagues as the toughest job in the heart of Doctor Shang.

"Doctor, I – what's wrong with me?" After the blood of the husky friend was drawn, the wolf transformation of the young man disappeared suddenly, just like its sudden appearance, and he opened his eyes in confusion.

Coldly taking the husky, who was still holding his paw and whimpering, he placed him in the corner of the room. Shang Haojia held the young man's shoulder with one hand, and used the other to hold up two fingers in front of him, "It's okay, you just experienced some hallucinations. How many is this?"

Before the youth could react, he hesitated for a while before tentatively answering, "Two…?"

"Not bad – Since you know how to count, you don't need to stay here anymore. Go out and call the next person who needs stitches." Untying the belt that tied his legs and the medical tape that tied his thumbs, Shang Haojia patted him on the shoulder and gestured towards the door.

Although the young man hadn't understood the situation yet, after pausing for two seconds, he immediately jumped up excitedly, "Good point, I can also go back and brag to them that I worked as an assistant for the doctor!"

Shang Haojia smiled and shook his head. He put the plasma he drew into a saline bottle to rest, took out a debridement kit, and put on a fresh pair of sterile gloves.

There were still a lot of wounded outside. The young man opened the door excitedly, straightened his posture, and beckoned in a decent manner, "Next one, move faster!"

The nurses had already completed the preliminary debridement outside, and there were a lot of young people who had dutifully helped to transport the patients inside. Shang Haojia only needed to suture and sterilise the wounds. Except for that big human-shaped dog in the corner that kept whimpering and occasionally came up with an excuse to explain himself, everything was pleasant and professional.

Once all of the suturing tasks were done and the last of the patients was pushed out of the small operating room, the young man quickly ran back. Opening the sliding door of the sterile area, he leaned in excitedly and gave him a thumbs up, "Doctor, Doctor, that was the last one – I'm not bragging, but your speed is absolutely top-notch. I have seen the operation rooms of others and they are not as fast as us…"

Although they were not fatal wounds, most of them had injured their muscles, so the stitching was not easy at all. The long-term high concentration made Shang Haojia mentally tired. He rubbed his sore eyes, took off his mask and gloves, and walked out of the sterile area, "Thank you for your hard work today. Your situation is a bit special, I need to explain it to you…"

By this time, He Jialun had recovered to his human state, but his emotions were still low. He squatted in the corner, holding his knees, and said nothing; apparently drawing blood was a serious blow to him.

Feeling that the fragile heart of the husky was hurt once again, Doctor Shang's guilt came out uncontrollably. He stepped forward and patted his shoulder, "Sorry, the situation was too urgent at the time, my attitude was not good – I should have asked for your opinion first, then shaved your hair."

"No, no – I am not angry with you, I'm just angry with myself. How could I be ashamed of it…" He Jialun replied in a dull voice, with some obvious nasal sounds. Once he finished talking, he sneezed fiercely.

Patting his shoulder sympathetically, Shang Haojia was about to comfort him, but the door of the operating room suddenly opened and a familiar figure gracefully entered.

In this already chaotic situation, Shang Haojia finally saw a reliable acquaintance, and he felt relieved, even his tone got lighter, "Mr. Wei, why did you come in by yourself – are you okay seeing so many injured patients?"

Keenly perceiving the change in his tone, Wei Long's ink-coloured pupils showed a smile and he stepped forward to give him a warm hug, "I should be grateful for the shocking work efficiency of your hospital, which is different from the past – My friend, it looks like your work today was very heavy. I can smell the blood of at least six to seven people on your body, and the breath of an unscrupulous werewolf who took advantage of the opportunity to steal a hug…"

"It was indeed not light – You came just in time, I have a very important thing to ask you." Not yet recovered from his professional state, Shang Haojia briefly returned the hug, then raised his hand to support Wei Long's shoulder and looked at him solemnly, "My dear friend, I know you faint at the sight of blood – but does serum produce the same effect?"

  1. I love that the first thing Doctor Shang said to He Jialun was to look at the new werewolf fur. He was so persistent 🤭 And it turned out He Jialun was a mix of husky and snow wolf with his mother gene more dominant 😋

At first I thought He Jialun was afraid of needle like me. Although I always chose injection if it would made me better ore quickly and the pain wasn't so much that I couldn't stand it, I still not like needle.

But it turned out it was because Doctor Shang cut his fur 🤭🤭

Wei Long's style in talking was infectious. Hopefully Doctor Shang wouldn't keep talking like him for your sake 😅🤭

    1. I love Dr. Shang, he can be so blunt and just won't drop the little things. I also love how he was infected by Wei Long's way of talking 😂

I am afraid of needles too, yet somehow I got a tattoo and want another one 🤣

I love that He Jialun was so prideful of his fur and was so upset because it was cut 🤭

  2. What serum? Why did he suddenly draw blood from our little werewolve friend? I'm confused.
    Thanks for the chapter!^^

    1. Serum is the liquid fraction of whole blood that is collected after the blood is allowed to clot. I'm assuming that the serum from a werewolf can cure the attacked human and prevent him from becoming a werewolf
