My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 35

Blood Loss Can Cause Dizziness and Cold Sweats

"... My dear friend, I think you must be having some kind of misunderstanding." Meeting the human doctor's questioning and condemning gaze, the vampire coughed lightly and sat up straighter, blinking innocently.

"I don't think there's anything to misunderstand – you're not going to say that this has nothing to do with you, are you?" Shang Haojia shook his head painfully, looked at the vampire who was thinking in a bizarre way, and sighed softly, "Animals have to save face too. What will the lionesses think of him if he goes to them like that? What will the tigers and leopards in the zoo think of him?"

"No, no – I'm not being presumptuous, my dear friend." The vampire shook his head and smiled helplessly, "You may not believe this, but I did make a deal with him..." With that, he glanced with some concern at the driver who was humming away in front of him, and lowered his voice considerably. With one hand, he pulled the human doctor to his side and leaned into his ear, "The male lion in the zoo had already cultivated intelligence, but because he was a wandering male lion, his predator instincts are very poor, so he got put in the zoo and usually relies on selling his cuteness for a living. But for the health of the animals in the zoo, they are fed only raw meat, so I negotiated with him with a ten-pack of chilli sticks – The human snacks proved to be very tempting..."

"Do lion spirits love chilli sticks too?" Doctor Shang felt that his worldview had been severely challenged and shook his head, relaxing against the arm behind his neck.

The vampire sat up straighter and thoughtfully wrapped his arms around the human, who was far too easily fatigued compared to the vampire, and patted his arm reassuringly, "Don't worry, he's a very fit adult male lion, even with his mane shaved off, he'll grow back in a few days..."

"A few days?" Doctor Shang, who always strived for precision, couldn't help but raise his eyebrows and sceptically repeated the remark.

Meeting his gaze, Wei Long couldn't help but be slightly embarrassed. Rubbing his nose, he coughed lightly, "Well... a few months at most, anyways, it can always grow back."

"Forget it, since you guys are willing, I won't worry much about it." Shang Haojia couldn't help but laugh lightly and shake his head before sighing, suddenly noticing that the vampire looked as if he was a bit gloomy. With an inexplicable sinking feeling in her heart, he sat up straighter subconsciously, "What's wrong, did you discover something?"

"Probably – we may have to get off soon, my friend." The vampire nodded slightly, cupped another wisp of morning air from outside the car window and sniffed it, then his eyes took on a cautious gaze, "I smell what His Highness Xian Lin said he smelled – It's mixed with all kinds of blood, very messy and chaotic, but the only thing that's not there is human blood..."

"Alright, I understand." Hearing his words, Shang Haojia's originally relaxed expression followed suit. After telling the driver to stop the car and paying the fare, he pulled the vampire and jumped out of the car, "Can you feel how far away he is from us? Is he coming after me?"

"Probably after both of us, after all, we were both supposed to be his targets." With a wary glance in all directions, Wei Long held out his hand towards him, "Darling, it's too late to explain further – I'll carry you back, it'll be quicker..."

Knowing the urgency of the situation, Shang Haojia asked no more questions, but nodded slightly. However, before he could be scooped up, a coldness suddenly crept up on his back. When he subconsciously raised his head, his gaze suddenly narrowed, "Watch out!"

Almost as soon as this warning was uttered, Shang Haojia had already swiftly yanked the vampire behind him, instantly switching the positions of the two.

Before he could even steady himself, a strong gust of fishy wind slammed into his face, and a sudden sharp pain shot through the human doctor's shoulder. His blood felt like it was suddenly being drawn away from his body by some extremely strong force, and the rapid loss of blood brought about an inexplicably strong sense of weakness.

"Mhmm..." Shang Haojia stifled the cry of pain that almost came out of his mouth, but before he could react, a strong force suddenly hit shoulder. He stumbled a few steps and barely managed to steady himself before a sudden lightness came from his shoulder.

The strange vampire pushed his captured prey away from him and quickly backed up a dozen metres. As if he had drunk something extremely fatal, he clutched his throat in horror and turned around before holding onto the trunk of a tree on the side of the road and vomiting into the grass.

"......" First, he had repeatedly lost the battle of chasing his own vampire to feed him blood, and now this new vampire had just taken a bite out of him and acted as if he had drunk something so bad it was killing him. As a simple and standardised human, Doctor Shang suddenly felt his dignity as food being severely challenged, and even the discomfort caused by the loss of blood was temporarily overshadowed by the sudden grief and anger.

"Are you going to be alright, Darling?!" The vampire wrapped his body around him with force, his eyes already bloodshot. His lips pursed in annoyance, clearly remorseful for his negligence, "I'm taking you back to treat your wounds – I was so negligent, I didn't think he'd just pounce on me like that..."

"It doesn't matter if I'm alright or not – There's just one thing I really want to know right now." Although he was only bitten on the shoulder, he still had a lot of blood sucked out of him. Shang Haojia felt a chill around his body. His sweat seeped out uncontrollably, and his strength seemed to have suddenly run out, but he still managed to hold on to his shoulder. He raised his arm and pointed at the vampire in frustration, "Am I really that unappetizing – making you both go to this extent?!"

"No, no, my dear, of course you're delicious – No, I mean your smell just screams delicious..." Drawn into a momentary daze by his own doctor's outburst, Wei Long hastily shook his head and subconsciously coaxed him, but then, feeling that it was clearly inappropriate, he hastily changed his words. After a long time of struggling, he simply picked him up and patiently kissed his cold, wet forehead, "Darling, you're hurt. Whether or not I eat well is not so important for now, we need to deal with your injury first – Do you need to go to the hospital? I've heard that humans bleed excessively from injuries and are treated through blood transfusions..."

"It doesn't matter, there's only a network of scapular arteries in this location, not any aorta, it'll be fine." After feeling the two canine teeth marks through his clothes and thinking about how difficult it would be to explain, Shang Haojia shook his head decisively and dismissed the suggestion to go to the hospital, "I'm a doctor, I know what I'm talking about – Dizziness, sweating, rapid heartbeat, fatigue, and blood loss of about 500cc. Go back and get me some light salt water for oral administration, bed rest, and lean meat and pork liver to nourish blood production. I am usually in good health, so there won't be any major issues..."

Listening to the human doctor skillfully recite a string of jargon, the vampire with no medical knowledge at all felt like his head was spinning. Blinking helplessly, he held the man in his arms a little more firmly, and relaxed his voice into his ear, "Hang on a little longer, my dear, I'll take you back now..."

"Your Highness Wei Long, do you really think – that you can just leave so easily?" Before his words could fall, an icy and elegant voice suddenly came from not far away.

Shang Haojia's heart sank slightly as he grasped the vampire's shoulder and did his best to brace himself. Looking around, he saw four vampires in old-fashioned tuxedos each occupying a side, surrounding the two men in a solid circle.

"Don't worry dear, I'll take care of the rest." The vampire's expression grew calmer as he saw more and more enemies, and he steadily swept the man up into his arms so that he could be more comfortable.

Shang Haojia had never doubted his own vampire's strength, so he raised an eyebrow and nodded gently, leaning against his chest, "Then I'll take a nap first – remember lean meat and pork liver for blood production, and I want to eat cassoulet and rice, and spicy hotpot too."

Although his food system was very different from that of humans, he was a vampire who had lived in China for some time, and Wei Long understood the human doctor's words without a problem. Smiling helplessly, he patted his arm again gently, "Darling, naturally there is nothing wrong with eating whatever you want – but I don't think there is too much lean meat and pig liver in either of those foods..."

"My esteemed Wei Long, you've been banished from the blood race and still think you can have those pureblood abilities?" A little irritated by the attitude of these two, one of the vampires stepped forward and his tone took on a bit of mean-spirited mockery, "As a vampire who would faint at the sight of blood, what makes you think you can break through the combined attacks of the four of us and actually escape with a vulnerable human?"

"I never said I was going to escape, and to fight, there does not have to be blood spilled and arms and legs flying around..." Wei Long lightly laughed calmly, as if his tone had suddenly undergone some subtle change. He closed his eyes for a moment and opened them again, and his pupils were already an intimidating blood colour.

Sensing the difference in the other party's aura, Shang Haojia frowned slightly and raised his head subconsciously, but still did not make a sound.

He could feel as if something had suddenly changed in the vampire's body at that very moment – an intimidating pressure had suddenly appeared on him, and the natural power of his pureblood had finally spread out without reservation. Now, Wei Long was more like a pure-blooded and dangerous vampire, an ancestor who had just been awakened from his coffin and had been sleeping for a thousand years.

– Vampires are dangerous beings, very dangerous.

Stunned at the sudden awakening of the pure-blooded vampire, several of the elders, who had been imposing, opened their mouths wide in fear, unable to move from the pressure. The blood red in their eyes faded away, leaving only a dull black.

"Do you really think that the so-called pureblood's prestige is maintained by a gold medal and a few certificates?" Wei Long easily wrapped one hand around the human in his arms and walked nonchalantly over to the one vampire that had taunted him earlier, flicking his canine teeth with amusement, "Let me teach you one thing – for thousands of years, it has been said that purebloods are the king of the vampires because only purebloods have the special ability to manipulate the teeth of any of the lower bloods. I can make all your teeth fall out in a day, or I can make all your canines grow cavities and make you roll around in pain whenever you bite down on something... Want to try it?"

  1. A lion who loves chilli stick 😅 Well at least the mane was cutted with his consent.

Aw it's sweet of Doctor Shang to protect Wei Long. He didn't even think that vampire was much sturdier than human. Thanks goodness Wei Long's need to protect his beloved made him not faint to see and smell Doctor Shang's blood.

I couldn't stop laughing when Doctor Shang was offended by the vampire's reaction. Doctor, your dignity sense wasn't in the right time. 🤭 It's good that vampires couldn't drink your blood so at least you'll be safe when encountered with vampires.

But it's make me wonder if one of Doctor Shang's ancestors were not human. So in everyday life Doctor Shang was not different with any human, but he had some protection from inhuman race. That's would explain why he seems like a magnet to attract inhuman's attention.

Wei Long's ability was cool. Even without be able to drink blood, he had no problem to face so many enemies. 👍

    1. I love that he just moved to protect him without thinking much. He didn't care about what would happen to him and only cared about protecting his vampire ❤

The fact that he was more upset that neither vampire wanted to drink his blood than he was that he was bitten was so funny. Doctor Shang's sense of pride is developing in a weird direction 😂
