After three rounds of drinks, Gu Yanta, true to everyone's expectations, passed out on the table, and the group's planned PUBG match at Lu Zheng's place had to be cancelled.

Lu Zheng and Chen Chen were ordered to escort the unconscious Captain Gu back home, and Yu Tiantian, claiming it was too late and unsafe for a girl to walk alone at night, stubbornly tagged along.

With Gu Yanta supported between them, the two men stood at the bottom of the staircase, staring at each other with wide eyes.

"I'll do it!" Yu Tiantian rolled up her sleeves, assumed a firm stance, and prepared to carry him. The two men were a little embarrassed, but the drunken Captain Gu was simply too heavy. They couldn't decide whether to hold on or let go.

Yu Tiantian shoved them aside, hoisted Gu Yanta onto her back in one swift motion, and climbed up to the third floor in a single breath. Turning to the two stunned men who had followed her, she mocked, "Look at you two scrawny men, Boss isn't even that heavy, my dad weighs over a hundred-eighty pounds! Last time he broke his leg hiking, I carried him up and down the stairs myself!"

Lu Zheng and Chen Chen: "......"

The three settled Gu Yanta into his home. Yu Tiantian then pestered Chen Chen, insisting he escort her home. "Brother Chen, it's already ten o'clock. I heard there've been a lot of robberies lately, losing money's one thing, but I'm afraid of being raped." She hooked her arm around Chen Chen's.

"Then you've got nothing to worry about," Chen Chen replied, attempting to shake her off. "The muggers would probably be more scared of you!"

"Just take her home, it's late, and Tiantian's still a girl after all..." Lu Zheng tried to defuse the situation. 

"I... Alright, let's go," Chen Chen gave up on his struggle. He glanced at the beaming Yu Tiantian and sighed.

After Chen Chen and Yu Tiantian left together, Lu Zheng turned to look at the sprawled-out Gu Yanta on the bed. He lifted his collar for a closer inspection and sighed in relief. Thankfully, there were no signs of an allergic rash this time. Remembering the last time he had to carry this guy all the way up to the fifth floor alone, Lu Zheng shook his head helplessly. Forget it, better to observe him for a while. If an allergic reaction flared up later, there wouldn't be anyone around to help this hapless bachelor, what if something dangerous happens?

Thinking of this, Lu Zheng half-reclined on the lounge chair next to Gu Yanta's bed. After scrolling on his phone for a while, he felt bored and decided to close his eyes for a quick rest. Unexpectedly, he dozed off. He didn't know how much time had passed when a sudden trip on his foot was followed by a loud thud! Lu Zheng jolted awake and sat up.

"Aiyou! My leg!"

Gu Yanta, feeling thirsty in the middle of the night, had woken up to get a glass of water. Still groggy and unsure of his surroundings, he tripped over Lu Zheng's outstretched leg and landed flat on his face. He scrambled up, rubbing his bruised knee, trying to figure out what had ambushed him. It didn't matter where he looked, he was immediately met with Lu Zheng's furious glare.

"Bloody hell! You scared me to death! Why are you here? Where am I?" Gu Yanta was so shocked that he sobered up several points.

"You're home," Lu Zheng replied curtly.

"My home? Then why are you in my home?"

"Still have the nerve to say that? I told you not to drink, but you wouldn't listen. I was worried you'd end up with an allergic reaction to the alcohol in the middle of the night and die! Since you're fine, I'm leaving." Lu Zheng stood, ready to walk away.

As the saying goes, alcohol bolsters one's courage. Out of nowhere, Gu Yanta found a burst of courage and suddenly grabbed Lu Zheng's hand. "Wait!" He leaned in, trapping Lu Zheng entirely in the recliner.

Lu Zheng, half-reclined and unable to summon strength, found himself restrained by Gu Yanta's hands, and couldn't break free. With a red face, he growled in a low voice, "What are you doing? Let me go!"

"Let me kiss you!"

"No way!"

"Why not? You didn't ask for my permission when you kissed me before!"

Lu Zheng was speechless. The kiss back at Cnclub had indeed been abrupt, but its unexpectedness had made him feel a little embarrassed and his heart pounded while recalling it later.

Before Lu Zheng could speak, Gu Yanta, emboldened by his drunken state, leaned in shamelessly. A warm, cool kiss landed on Lu Zheng's lips, and the slightly sweet taste of red wine spread between them as their lips and tongues intertwined.

The alcohol, combined with the heated atmosphere, gradually muddled Lu Zheng's emotions, and he found himself instinctively responding to the kiss. He felt Gu Yanta's breath growing hotter, and as his own hand slid around the back of Gu Yanta's neck, their bodies began to react...

But just as things were escalating, Gu Yanta stopped. He lifted his face, his eyes filled with barely suppressed lust. Resting his forehead against Lu Zheng's, he reached out and gently pinched Lu Zheng's ear.

Lu Zheng couldn't suppress a soft moan. His voice trembled slightly as he panted, "What do you want?"

Gu Yanta pushed off the recliner's armrests with his elbows and stood up. A faint smirk played on his lips, carrying a touch of mischief. The moonlight outlined Gu Yanta's profile, revealing a thrilling masculine charm. For a moment, Lu Zheng found himself in a captivated trance, his heart pounding wildly. Though he had always admitted to himself that Gu Yanta was handsome, this was the first time he'd felt such a stirring attraction.

"Relax, Lu Xiaozheng. I'm a gentleman, I won't take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state," Gu Yanta said, sauntering back to the bed and sitting down. He adjusted his position, clearly trying to ease a certain tension in his body. "Wait until I carry you off in a grand wedding procession."

"Get lost, if anyone's gonna marry, I'll marry you!" Lu Zheng's eyes gleamed with a subtle tenderness, though his face was red enough to drip blood. Despite this, his words were sharp, and his tone remained icy.

"Haha, okay, for you, I wouldn't mind being the one to marry in," Gu Yanta replied with his usual thick skin.

"I'm going back to sleep." Lu Zheng's ears burned as he quickly stood up, waving his hand in an attempt to hide his flustered state. "See you tomorrow."

Gu Yanta reclined back onto his bed, blowing a kiss toward Lu Zheng. "Goodnight, see you tomorrow."

Only after hearing the loud bang of his front door closing did Gu Yanta finally allow himself a moment of relief. Ai, why am I such a coward? Such a perfect opportunity for a home run, and I just let it slip away. Then again, rushing things could be detrimental to a long-term relationship. After all, I want to be with Lu Xiaozheng forever! Hmm... it's better to be cautious...

With these scattered thoughts swirling in his mind, Gu Yanta drifted back to sleep.

Just as dawn broke, Gu Yanta's phone blared loudly. Groggy, he fumbled around for a good while before locating the source of the noise beneath his bedside table.

"Hello? Boss! Are you sober yet? We've got a situation!" Chen Chen's voice came through urgently. "Get over here quickly, I'll send you the address, bring Consultant Lu along too!"

"What's wrong?"

"Let's talk about it when you get here!"

"Alright." Gu Yanta leapt out of bed. "I'll be right there!"

"Lu Xiaozheng! Get up!" Accompanied by the sound of knocking on the door, Lu Zheng's sweet dreams once again came to an end.

After returning from Gu Yanta's place last night, Lu Zheng hadn't fared much better. Tossing and turning for hours, he had only managed to fall asleep in the early hours. Now, even when he opened the door, he was in a daze.

"What's the matter this early?" Lu Zheng smoothed his dishevelled hair.

"There's a case."

"Got it, give me ten minutes."

Leaning against the doorframe, Gu Yanta tilted his head and watched as Lu Zheng brushed his teeth, washed his face, and even washed his hair all in one go. He couldn't help a smile tugging at his lips. Truly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The more I look at this kid, the cuter he seems!

"You're in the way," Lu Zheng pushed past Gu Yanta, who was like a 'door god'.

"Let me kiss you first." Gu Yanta leaned in and kissed Lu Zheng's cheek.

"What are you..." Lu Zheng's ears turned red again as he hastily covered his face. "Can't you stop being a rogue first thing in the morning? Aren't we in a rush?"

"Go, go, go." Gu Yanta put his arm around Lu Zheng's shoulder, his face radiating smug satisfaction.
