My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 51
Internal Bleeding Causes Loss of Consciousness
"The emergency department is different from the general department; emergencies and critical illnesses are given priority, and we will handle them appropriately." With a glance at the pale face of the young man, Shang Haojia's expression froze. With one hand, he put away the red-haired young man's business card and walked quickly over to him, "Do you feel anything unusual? Are you dizzy? Can you talk?"
"Doctor, I'm fine..." The young man answered in a low voice and glanced at his red-haired companion, then propped himself up on the armrest and raised his head, "This doctor, I have a favour to ask of you, can we talk in private?"
Having come into contact with all kinds of gods and demons, Doctor Shang had gradually figured out the rules of these non-human races, and was basically sure that Wei Long was talking about the one in front of him. Looking at the textbook signs of internal bleeding, he guessed that he was not a strong race, so he nodded, "Come with me to the consultation room, let's take his blood pressure first and see if there is any internal bleeding."
After bringing the young man into the consultation room in a hurry, Shang Haojia told the other to sit in the outer area and wait for the time being. He took the blood pressure monitor and was about to take his blood pressure when the young man suddenly pressed his arm, "Doctor – can you keep a secret for me?"
"Keep what secret?" Seeing his reaction, Doctor Shang suddenly had a premonition in his mind and looked at him with slightly raised eyebrows, putting the band aside.
The young man lowered his head and deliberated for a moment before finally making up his mind and looking up to meet his gaze, "I heard that your emergency department had been in contact with werewolves before, that's why I chose this hospital on purpose – may I ask if you believe in the existence of werewolves?"
Shang Haojia was not surprised as he had already guessed what was going on. He tilted his head and was about to reply when Vita suddenly jumped up, "No wonder you look so familiar to me! I know who you are, you're the vixen who stole my brother's boyfriend!"
"Vixen..." With a cautious glance at the youth in front of him, Doctor Shang finally had his first major doubts about his worldview on life, "Maybe I have some misunderstanding about the definition of this word – are all of you foreign vixens so innocent and unpretentious?"
Perhaps it was because he was used to seeing all kinds of inhuman races, either handsome or innocent, the youth in front of him was really not that stunning. His face was square, his eyes were small, and his gaze was not very lively, but he looked a little wooden, even his expression was enigmatic and aloof. Doctor Shang, who had been brought up with traditional Chinese culture, found it hard to associate such a young man with a vixen who specialised in bewitching young scholars.
"So you are the younger brother of that vampire con man, are you also of the same lineage as your brother and have come to lure innocent humans for rations?" The youth glanced at the teenage vampire indifferently, then looked to the human doctor at the side and nodded slightly, "I am not a foreign vixen, I am Chinese like you. My mother is of the Tibetan fox clan and we were all born that way – if you don't mind, I need to transform to recover from my own wounds, can we talk more about that afterwards?"
"Tibetan fox – no wonder, I see." Thinking about the strange shape of the Tibetan fox as a mainstay of an expression pack, Shang Haojia nodded in a daze, instantly understanding the reason why the other party had grown into this shape. As he watched the youth in front of him instantly strengthen his body and turn back into a walking humanoid Tibetan fox, he couldn't help but cough lightly before he could barely hold back the laughter in his eyes. (Angel: The expression of the Tibetan fox is quite comical and could be used as a meme, hence why he said it could be in an expression pack.)
"You can actually hold back your laughter. When our race transforms face to face, we can all crouch on the ground together and laugh for ten minutes." Transforming back into his original form, the youth blinked and looked at him with just a bit of surprise, but his expression remained one of fascinated calmness, "I owe you one, feel free to make a request of me in the future. By the way, I warn you, you'd better stay away from that little liar, or you'll be used as food by him if you're not careful."
"You're the liar, your whole family are liars!" After being called out twice, Vita finally couldn't hold his temper anymore and leapt up in annoyance, "Aren't you afraid to tell people that you're a vixen? Why should my brother be the only one who's a liar–"
"Our diet consists mainly of rats, rabbits and small rodents, plus insects, feathers and berries at most. What about you guys?" The youth interrupted him without any urgency, straightening his clothes and looking good-naturedly at the teenage vampire in front of him, "I can accompany him on the street during the day, eat hotpot with him, and take selfies with him. What can your brother do with him, hold him and jump around on the roofs of houses in the middle of the night?"
"......" Doctor Shang, who had been held while jumping around roofs in the middle of the night, couldn't help but cough twice, subconsciously touching his nose and tapping the table twice to show his presence, "Well, if there's nothing else, you guys should go out, and I should get back to seeing patients."
"I know this is an unreasonable request, but I still have to ask your permission to wait here for a little while. Haidi Lao is just a normal human, and if I go out now, he will be suspicious." Nodding apologetically at him, the youth stood up, flipped out another business card, and handed it to him, "My name is Jia Duobao, which means many fortunes and many treasures, and I currently have a company of my own. If you run into any difficulties, you can come here and find me, I'll be happy to offer you something in return for today's events."
"Boss, don't listen to him lie to you – them foxes are the most cunning of races, and there are few credible words that come out of their mouths!" Although he was blocked from speaking, Vita, still gagging and full of anger, tugged on Shang Haojia's arm and gave the vixen a wary glare, "He used these unseemly means to defeat my brother and steal his intended boyfriend!"
"No, the reason your brother failed was probably the fact that he knocked on their house windows in the middle of the night and wrote bloody letters on his house mirror..." Shaking his head in good conscience and patting the battered teenage vampire sympathetically, Doctor Shang looked to the side at Jia Duobao with a hint of cautious speculation in his eyes, "Mr. Jia, let me ask one more question, did you have anything to do with the previous werewolf riot?"
"Technically speaking, I might be related, but I'm not the main culprit, just a wolf in the know – I can expose myself and give up my fellow wolves if you want to know." The youth nodded without missing a beat, and without him even having to ask a follow-up question, added earnestly, "I'll do anything, as long as you can keep from revealing my identity to Haidi Lao."
Not sure if it was because of his bewilderingly calm demeanour or his frankness, Shang Haojia was at a loss as to how to react. He was just thinking about whether he should calm him down and go back to discuss with his vampire when the door to the consultation room was suddenly pushed open gently.
"Old Shang, you're really here?" A colleague peered in from outside, and when he saw him inside, he walked in with a smile on his face, rubbing his hands together, "Look how polite you are, you say you won't help, but your body is still honest enough to come down and help..."
"Don't talk nonsense here, do you know how frantic I was to complete those medical records – what do you want from me?" Shang Haojia shook his head, unable to laugh or cry, and angrily kicked him in the face. His colleague nimbly dodged sideways, then pointed to the door and gave a meaningful wink, "There's a young man with quite non-mainstream hair who says he wants to talk to you and would like to ask you to sneak out for a while..."
"Oh no, he must be getting suspicious." Jia Duobao's tone changed slightly as he hastily took hold of the human doctor's arm and shook his head at him, "Please, make sure you hide it for me, I don't want him to know who I am..."
"Okay – I'll do my best." Looking at his constantly super calm demeanour even when he was in such a state of anxiety, Doctor Shang felt that the world had taken on some sort of magical realism style. He hesitated for a moment before nodding and rubbing the teenage vampire's head, "Things like chasing a boyfriend or girlfriend are supposed to be a fair fight, so don't gamble, go upstairs and give your Brother Wei a safety report."
"Hmph, I'll listen to my boss for now, but I'll go puncture your tires later!" Pushed forward two steps, Vita still felt unconvinced and showed his teeth towards him viciously before reluctantly leaving through the door.
Shang Haojia shook his head and smiled, nodding apologetically at him before following his colleague out of the consultation room and towards the waiting area, "There aren't many people today, and it doesn't look like there are any critical cases, are you really not lying to me?"
"So we made up five hundred or so medical records in two consecutive days in order to lie to you, just to wait for you to come back and catch up on work, right – why don't you give us a good Chinese colleague award?" The colleague glanced at him without mercy and sighed helplessly, shaking his head resentfully, "We're busy when you don't come, and we're not busy when you do. Then you come and say we're not busy, and when we're busy you don't come, we're helpless too..."
"Okay, okay, I'll write you a charm later, you can hang it in the consultation room to ward off evil spirits." Dizzy from this series of tongue twisters, Shang Haojia was helpless and laughed, and it was only after he replied that he caught a glimpse of the youth who stood out in the crowd.
"Doctor!" As soon as he saw him, the youth rushed to greet him, pulling him into a corner without a word. He glanced around warily before pulling a brilliantly coloured tail feather from his sleeve, "I know you may not believe this kind of thing, but you look like a good person to me, so surely you can understand me – This is a phoenix feather, it's a cure for everything. Take this and save him, but don't say I gave it to you. He's just an ordinary human, I'm afraid I'll scare him, so if you help me keep this a secret, I'll treat you to a hotpot later, and you can choose whatever you want to eat, okay?"

It's been a hectic weeks for me. Too much unrealistic projects that made me wanted to yell I'm not a magic worker. Yet somehow I finish it, made me dreaded if it would couraged them to asking for more. 👿
ReplyDeleteSo I could just comment now to the story that helped reduced my stress.
This story is a blessing really. It's never failed to make me smile. It's funny really that Jia Duobao was afraid that his boyfriend found out he wasn't human while then we found out Haidi Lau wasn't a human and he too thought Jia Duobao was just a human. 😂
Doctor Shang seems like a magnet that attracted non human's attention. It's just so coincidentally that those two trusted their secrets to Doctor Shang.
Let me guess Haidi Lau was a Phoenix?
I'm glad you made it through your week!
