My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 44
At the insistence of the two little dragons, and despite his reluctance, Doctor Shang accepted his fate to take part and accompany the two little ones through a trio of children's songs. The vampire stood by in relief, taking out his cell phone with a smile on his face to record this rare and precious scene.
The moment the last note settled, Shang Haojia suddenly heard a dragon's roar in his ears.
The dragon's roar was thick and long, as if it could easily evoke the deepest awe in one's heart, and in front of him, the shadow of a golden dragon suddenly emerged.
It was the image that most closely matched the oldest Chinese totem – a dragon with eyes like bells, a body armoured in gold, its claws stepping on auspicious clouds, and carrying lightning. Hovering gently in mid-air, its eyes gazed down at the human being below.
"Brave young man..."
The respect that had just grown was rudely interrupted by this familiar phrase. Shang Haojia blinked in confusion, a sudden sense of foreboding rising in his mind.
Oblivious to his reaction, the dragon remained majestic. Three pictures appeared in front of him and he continued unhurriedly, "Did you sign with this common Welsh green dragon, or this Norwegian Ridgeback, or these two little golden dragons?"
"... I have to say, your dragons' captcha is much more user-friendly than 12306's." Doctor Shang sighed softly as he moved and clicked on the pictures of the two little ones. The dragon's head suddenly shone with a golden light, and the words 'Signing progress 25%' appeared on the dragon's body. (Angel: 12306 is a service that lets you buy train tickets.)
"Very well, you have passed the honesty test." The dragon nodded reassuringly as its progress bar increased. A golden decree appeared in front of him, at the very beginning of which were the words 'Instructions for the Dragon Clan Contract' in bold brush strokes.
Beneath this heading, there were at least a few thousand words in dense clerical script. It probably sets out a number of extremely trivial details about signing a contract, paying tribute, raising dragon eggs, social life, and many other aspects in extreme detail.
"There is no need to read it carefully, it's all nonsense like 'it is forbidden to fry and eat dragon eggs', 'there will be no refunds or exchanges after the eggs are broken', 'the baby dragon must be sterilised in time' and other nonsense. After you sign it, you'll get a paper copy with the dragon egg, so just check the box at the end that says 'I read and agree to the above terms and conditions'." The golden dragon tapped its tail twice impatiently, summarising the essence of the instructions in a concise manner. It blew lightly towards the patch of shadow, and the holy order automatically floated to the very end.
"There is also a need for birth control for the baby dragon – will a normal veterinary hospital do the trick?" Following his words and drawing a check mark at the end, Doctor Shang took the time to scan the instructions and curiously asked a follow-up question. But before the golden dragon could respond, the copy of the holy order suddenly rolled up swiftly and transformed into a shiny golden dragon scale, which gently landed in his palm.
"This is a membership card, it will direct you to a hospital for dragons on its own. It's good for up to 20% off depending on the species, and you can use it as many times as you like." Looking at the bewildered look on the human's face, the golden dragon explained proudly, waving its tail, "How about that, aren't we particularly up to date!"
"Indeed – extraordinarily up to date..." Doctor Shang rubbed his temples and nodded in a complicated mood. As soon as he responded, a beam of golden light suddenly surrounded him.
"Congratulations to the user for passing the responsibility and courage assessment. The following general condition check will be conducted, please do not become invisible and do not move your position. If the assessment is interrupted due to unavoidable reasons, you may sing 'Little Green Dragon' once again and reconnect with the Dragon Clan Auspicious Cloud Client."
The golden light seemed to carry an inexplicable magical power, sweeping Shang Haojia carefully from head to toe, and it was as if a vibrant power had been poured into his body. The original weakness and dizziness caused by the loss of blood dissipated instantly, leaving only a pleasant warmth and comfort.
"It was detected that the user's bloodline purity is greater than 99.99% human, a pure-blooded Chinese race. No history of infectious diseases such as dragon plague, no history of bad dragon abuse information records, the presence of threatening factors such as injury and frailty have been restored to a generally good condition, and the signing is allowed to proceed. The signing ceremony will take place immediately. Please turn off all shielding talents and magic items with a shielding function, as the dragon client needs to record the exact location of each user truthfully and strictly keep the user's confidentiality and be responsible for the user at all times."
Accompanied by a thick mechanical dragon roar, the dragon's progress bar jumped to seventy-five percent in one go, and most of the dragon's body glowed with a dazzling golden light, with only a few inches of dullness in its tail remained dim.
As if they had been waiting for this moment, the two little dragons jumped into the human doctor's arms with a cheer, tacitly linking their heads and tails and coiling into the dragon walk tai chi pose.
"Good – I thought I would have to take a test and answer as many questions correctly as it takes to pass or something like that..." Having finally made it to this level, Doctor Shang finally breathed a small sigh of relief. He felt the golden light slowly gathering, eventually projecting on the two small dragons and then falling through them onto his chest.
It was as if there was some kind of mysterious connection spreading slowly from his chest, one that was indescribable, yet inexplicably sacred.
Shang Haojia subconsciously closed his eyes and listened to the chiming sound of the dragons echoing in his ears, then slowly opened his eyes, a golden aura flashing through them.
"The contract is completed, please have the customer collect the dragon egg attached to the contract within three days. The above is the Wiring Dragon Wushen number for your service, please fill in your evaluation at the dragon's head: 1. satisfied, 2. very satisfied. Thank you for signing and I hope there will be another opportunity to serve you."
The solemn atmosphere was completely broken by the prompting tone. Shang Haojia shook his head, unable to laugh or cry, and had no choice but to write a two on the dragon's head, then watched the huge dragon's silhouette take off into the air, "How come there isn't even an option for dissatisfaction? What is the user to do if they really feel dissatisfied?"
"Is this a joke? Which human dares to say he's not satisfied with our dragon's service? If he dares to be dissatisfied, we'll swallow him in one bite!" The golden dragon waved its claws with great pride, but it pulled its wound again and had to suck in a cold breath and lie back, "Our dragon clan has always been about providing a one-stop service, and the dragon eggs will be delivered here by a special dragon – That thing is sturdy, you can't break it even if you drop it on the ground. Just leave it around, it will hatch sooner or later, you don't have to worry much about that."
"Thank you..." Deeply impressed by the service attitude of the dragons, Shang Haojia laughed helplessly. Gently stroking the horns of the two little dragons, he looked over threateningly at the vampire who was fiddling with his phone with a grin on his face, "I'll check that phone later, and if there's still a video of me singing on it, you'll eat all of that duck blood vermicelli soup, got it?"
"Rest assured, my dear – I'll delete the video right now and you can check it out as you please." The vampire nodded bitterly but agreed without hesitation, deleting the videos cleanly in front of him.
The human doctor was suspicious of such a quick attitude change and was about to ask more questions, but his werewolf friend who was not afraid of death poked his head through the door again, "You believe him? The villa is equipped with a newly developed surveillance crystal ball that can record all sounds and images 24 hours a day and project them in three dimensions at any time. What's so good about the video recorded on the phone, of course he said he'd delete it..."
"My loyal butler, are you impatient to shave because summer is here?" The vampire looked up with a smile as warm as a cold breeze, and a little bit of blood flashed in his midnight-like eyes.
Sensing the murderous intent in the other man's smile, the half-blood husky shivered in fear and slammed the door with a bang, fleeing, and pinning Wayne Loki, who was about to take the opportunity to slip out the back door, in the doorway.
"Almost forgot about him – we'll talk about the crystal ball later. What's he about to do?" Glancing at the newly minted pureblood vampire who was caught in a tight spot, Shang Haojia quickly went over and dragged him out of the doorway, "Are you still dizzy from the blood? If so, it's best to stay away for now, he got herbal tea all over the place..."
With his heart slightly down, Wei Long hurriedly got up and answered, secretly deciding that he must transfer the contents of the crystal ball as soon as possible and take another copy to the backup stalactite, "My dear, there is no need to worry about him for the time being, he has been marked by me, there is no way he can escape – How are you feeling now? Has your body fully recovered?"
"It's no longer an issue. Their healing is pretty strong, I feel like I could go out and run a triathlon now." Shang Haojia nodded, carried Wayne Loki to the side, and neatly wiped the blood stains scattered around. After instructing the two little dragons to behave and wait for him and nodding towards the golden dragon, he picked up the portion of duck blood vermicelli soup and turned to walk up the stairs, "Come back to the room with me, I have something to ask you."
"My dear, let me explain..." Sensitive to the fact that the crystal ball might not survive, the vampire hurried to keep up, quickly thinking of an emergency backup in his mind. The human doctor, however, simply went upstairs, turning a deaf ear, and quickly entered the bedroom with his takeaway.
Realising that there seemed to be more excitement to be had, the two little dragons got together to say a few words, rolled their eyes, and followed silently.
"My dear–" Closing the bedroom door with a backhand, the vampire spoke in a bitter whisper and was about to make one more effort for those precious images when his human tugged his wrist and sat on the bed, "What the hell is going on – can you explain it now?"
Vaguely aware that the two sides' concerns seemed to be somewhat misaligned, Wei Long blinked blankly and subconsciously asked, "What?"
"You've always been very resistant to sucking blood, even if you convert to a pureblood state, you shouldn't be that easily compelled to do so." Shang Haojia looked at him solemnly, and his expression had taken on a bit of gravity, "What exactly caused you to bite Wayne Loki – Was it because this pureblood conversion was too much of a drain on your power?"
"My dear – I have to admit that I am in awe of the sharpness of your thinking and the meticulousness of your observations..." Looking at him, Wei Long's eyes had a helpless smile in them, and he nodded gently, "It's like this. Wayne Loki was originally classified as an extremely special 'pseudo-pureblood', due to the fact that his parents each carried a portion of the recessive pureblood genes. It just so happened that all of the recessive genes combined with each other despite the very low probability, resulting in their son showing all of the characteristics belonging to the purebloods, but not possessing the racial talent of a pureblood."
"So presumably – the hybrids crossed and created a pureblood..." Doctor Shang nodded thoughtfully, quickly understanding what the other man was saying, "I can understand that part, then what?"
"And then in this case, these pseudo-purebloods are able to seize part of the talent by feeding on the blood of the purebloods, and such a seizure would cause some damage to the blood donor. Even the most powerful purebloods are bound to be released from their pureblood state or even fall into dormancy – and once they fall into this state, they are meant to be 'preyed upon' by him, and he is under no obligation to them." Looking at his intelligent human, the vampire smiled and nodded slightly, with a heartfelt admiration in his eyes, "But if I had sucked his blood and remained in the pureblood state until the end of his purification, it would have a completely different meaning. He would then become my offspring, not only obeying my commands and being under my control in terms of his position and movement at all times, but he would also have to call me father..."

These dragons really something 😅 First the children songs. Then after a grand appearance with mystic aura suddenly they asked question with remind me of 3 axes story.
ReplyDeleteI know Doctor Shang didn't want to offend the dragons so he followed the instructions to skip all the details and just clicked the box in the end. But as a scientific person it was really careless.
I was a little disappointed that Wei Long deleted the video until our husky blew up his cover. My.. Didn't see him as a sly person 🤭
Ah that's why he was so careless to say anything in front Wayne Loki. He was bonded to obey Wei Long as his superior / father. Niceeee
Now let us see if Wei Long could retrieved his crystal ball safely. 😁
I feel like the more we interact with the dragons, the more they loose their majestic image 😅
DeleteI'm curious to see more of this father/son dynamic between the two 😂
Hopefully Wei Long can keep that crystal ball safe 😁
