To coincide with the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the famous translator Lin Fei, the Translators Association of China invited Ji Xiuyuan to create a portrait of Mr. Lin to hang in the exhibition hall of the memorial hall at Lin Fei's former residence.

Born in the Republic of China, Lin Fei studied abroad for eight years and graduated from Cornell University. Upon his return to China, he voluntarily gave up the olive branches offered by the political and business worlds and devoted himself to education. As the most prestigious professor in the Department of Foreign Languages at Y University, he was handsome and elegant, humble and polite, knowledgeable and humorous, and wise and gentle. He worked tirelessly, and made a remarkable contribution to the worlds of education and translation.

Interestingly, his same-sex partner, the genius writer Shen Yue, happened to be one of his students at Y University. This affair also caused quite a stir at the time. However, the two were so well matched, both in terms of talent and looks, that one could not help but exclaim: this was truly a golden match.

When Ji Xiuyuan was consulting the materials at the memorial hall, he came across this photograph:

Lin Fei was embracing his lover, who was whispering in his ear; Lin Fei was smiling like a spring breeze, his eyes gentle.

Liang Jin said, "Professor Lin is so handsome! If I had an English teacher like that, I'd get full marks in English! His partner is also quite handsome, but his temperament looks a bit... gloomy!"

Ji Xiuyuan laughed: "Xiao Jin, your focus is on appearance?"

"Of course not! I'm also concerned about the gossip between them! Think about it, a hundred years ago, having a gay relationship! And a teacher-student relationship! That's so exciting! It feels so stimulating!"

"Xiao Jin, I suggest you reflect on yourself."

"Huh? Reflect on what?"

Ji Xiuyuan whispered in his ear, "Actually, we can be more stimulating."

Liang Jin coughed: "Ji Shen, in the memorial hall of your seniors, be serious!"

When they returned home that evening, Liang Jin lay in bed reading the gift from the memorial hall: Lin Fei's translation of 'Shakespeare's Sonnets'. In front of the main text, there was a preface written by Shen Yue. The preface boasted Lin Fei to high heaven, and there was a secret show of affection between the lines.

Liang Jin said to Ji Xiuyuan beside him, "Ji Shen, what does it mean to be a winner in life, this is a winner in life. No matter how many years of change the world has undergone, they can still serve up dog food in their books."

Ji Xiuyuan helplessly rubbed his hair, "Xiao Jin, when you knock other people's cp, can you think of yourself first?"

Liang Jin looked at him in confusion.

Ji Xiuyuan said softly, "In every painting I made of you, I hid endless admiration and love. And they are undisguised and blatant. They have toured the world and will live on forever for you."

From the first painting when we first met, I signed my name in the corner.

From then on, unbeknownst to them, they fell deeper and deeper.
