S.C.I Mystery Series Volume 4 Chapter 34

A Requiem for a Murderer 34 – Chapter

Ma Han shot and broke the long rope hanging below the helicopter. Eugene was sitting on the ground with his chin up and saw it, and couldn't help but whistle, "Amazing talent, how about it, do you want to hang out with me and make a lot of money? Why do you work as a cop..."

Before he finished speaking, he felt a gust of wind behind him.

Eugene turned around, only to see Ma Xin standing behind him looking at him intently, "Try saying that again, I'll have Grandpa Jue hypnotise you and make you shave your own hair!"

Eugene drew a cold breath and subconsciously pressed his head.

Bai Ye and Gongsun looked at each other silently. This little girl Ma Xin was really something, she could see Eugene's biggest 'weakness' at a glance!

Ma Han quickly fired another meaningless shot.

Gongsun didn't see what he had hit and wondered, "An empty shot?"

Ma Han didn't say anything and pulled the bolt back again, looking very focused.

Zhao Hu waved his hand gently and pointed to a point in the distance.

Gongsun was even more confused.

Eugene pushed the frames of the glasses he used for decoration up the bridge of his nose, pounding his legs and laughing, "That punk monster probably never had such a big loss in his life, ahahahaha!"

Gongsun was surprised, could it be that Ma Han had just hit the cello?

Then, Ma Han fired another shot...

Gongsun then saw a very bright spark erupt from the helicopter's landing gear and the helicopter shifted slightly.

"Did you miss?" Gongsun wondered.

Ma Han looked up at that moment and said with a frown, "What a weird picture."

Everyone turned their faces to look over and saw the helicopter hanging in mid-air.

Not far ahead of the helicopter, on the top of a hill, there was a man standing there. It wasn't clear when he had gone up there, but they saw at the slim figure, the loose jumper and the long hair that flew with the gale caused by the helicopter's airflow.

"Isn't that Zhao Jue?" Zhao Hu frowned.

Ma Han took aim once more and fired two shots in quick succession, which grazed the nose and tail of the helicopter, creating sparks.

Gongsun and the others understood that it was not a missed shot at all, but a warning. Zhao Jue was standing in front of the helicopter without any weapons, and the other side might have attacked him if they were armed.

Ma Han was acting just as Zhao Jue had requested, covering him.

The opponent's helicopter was not a military helicopter, so there were no guns, only the people on board who resorted to landing or shooting. Ma Han's bullets warned the people on board – They could shoot down the aircraft at any time or kill anyone on board, and therefore kept the other side honest.

Bai Ye gazed at Zhao Jue for a long time and turned to walk away.

"Ai?" Ma Xin chased after him, "You're leaving, Uncle Bai? Grandpa Zhao said he had a gift for you."

Bai Ye turned his head back slightly and gave Ma Xin a light smile, albeit a helpless one, "I already know what he wants to give me."

Everyone froze.

Bai Ye shook his head, "I don't like it."

As Bai Ye finished speaking, he walked quickly down the stairs and disappeared into the darkness of the night, leaving everyone on the roof except Ma Han to look at Eugene in unison.

Eugene shrugged, "I like it!"

Just as everyone was puzzled, Zhao Jue, who was standing opposite the helicopter on the top of the hill in the distance under the night sky, suddenly stretched out his hands, spreading them, one hand sideways to the front and the other gently shaking... the action seemed to be that of playing a violin...

Immediately after, there came a burst of sultry and undulating music from a violin, with a touch of sadness, as well as an indescribable sense of solemnity.

Zhao Hu picked out his ears, "Aiya, where is that sound coming from?"

Ma Xin covered her mouth in surprise, "He doesn't have a violin in his hand!"

Eugene held his chin and sighed, "This move of Zhao's Jue’s, if this kid Zhan Zhao saw it, he would probably jump."

Ma Han suddenly looked up, "Not necessarily."

......

In the distance, in front of the mountain temple, Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang, who had walked to the gate, looked at the mountain in the distance.

Bai Chi asked Zhao Zhen in surprise, "Did you hear the sound? What's going on?"

Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao beside him, only to see the corners of his mouth slightly lifting.

"I finally know how Zhao Jue killed that man that day." Bai Jintang suddenly spoke.

Everyone turned back to look at him.

Bai Jintang responded, "Do you still remember that day in my villa, someone snuck in and without Zhao Jue moving a single finger, the other party died."

Bai Yutang subconsciously looked at Zhan Zhao.

Zhan Zhao looked at Zhao Jue on the mountain and said, "This is called sensory hypnosis, it's a deception technique."

"Deception…" Zhao Zhen muttered, "This is interesting."

"It's not recommended that you use it in magic." Zhan Zhao reminded him, "Unless you want to be completely marginalised and possibly banned from performing in the future."

Zhao Zhen laughed dryly twice, "Thanks for the reminder."

"I still don't quite get it." Bai Chi asked curiously.

Zhan Zhao asked Bai Chi, "Are you afraid of pain?"

Bai Chi shook his head, "No."

Zhan Zhao nodded, "Reach out your hand and I'll demonstrate it for you."

Bai Chi stretched out his hand.

Zhan Zhao suddenly made the motion of striking a lighter.

Bai Chi withdrew his hand, "Hiss..."

Looking at his finger again, there was a blister.

"Wow..." Zhao Zhen was distressed and blew on Bai Chi's finger while looking at Zhan Zhao, "Why did you do it for real."

Bai Chi looked at his finger in surprise and looked at Zhan Zhao, "How..."

"The action suggestion tricks your brain, and then your brain tricks your body." Zhan Zhao said slowly, "Because you knew that fire is hot and that you would develop blisters after being scalded by fire."

Bai Chi froze slightly. He indeed had a slightly dark coloured scar on his forearm, it was from foolishly playing with his father's cigarettes when he was a child. At that time, he had scalded himself and developed a blister, which hurt for a long time and later left a scar.

A chill ran through the crowd – In other words, as long as one had been cut by a knife, then doing the slashing gesture would be as painful as being cut by a knife? Then, in the event of having been shot by a gun, once you make a shooting motion...

Bao Zheng shook his head and stepped aside to look at his watch, seemingly counting the time.

"What a frightening ability." At this point, the captain of the SWAT team looked over at Zhan Zhao, "Killing people without even having to commit the crime yourself, simply the strongest killer."

Bai Yutang glanced back at him with an unkind expression.

The captain of the SWAT team frowned and seemed to want to say something else, but swallowed it back when he saw the look in Bai Yutang's eyes.

Bai Yutang glared back at Zhan Zhao – In the future, don't show off outside and attract unnecessary danger to yourself.

Zhan Zhao rubbed his nose – He was taught a lesson... Suddenly, he extended his index finger, pressed it to his lips and made a 'shhh' gesture to the SWAT team captain.

The other party was slightly taken aback, then jumped up in fright, "What are you doing?"

Zhan Zhao raised the corner of his mouth, "Keep it a secret."

The captain of the SWAT team stood there dumbfounded, he didn't know what was wrong, but he felt that his head was suddenly empty. What did Zhan Zhao say just now?

Everyone looked at each other in disbelief – Zhan Zhao's 'shhh' gesture just now was exactly the same as the one that Zhao Jue usually did.

Everyone here, except for a few SWAT officers, had seen Zhao Jue do this silencing action. In fact, now that they thought about it, this action was very common and many people would do it, but only the one that Zhao Jue did was very special and seemed to carry some kind of evil aura. No matter how you imitate it, it didn't feel right, but the one Zhan Zhao did just now was almost exactly the same… If their faces were switched, the action would be the same!

Bai Chi suddenly felt that good marksmanship, strong combat, physical superiority and extensive experience are all attainable, whereas only Zhan Zhao and Zhao Jue like this are simply unattainable. Those who stand at the altar of God will never be able to imagine those outside the altar of God, that magical ability, and the various unknown dangers that ability brings.

……

From a distance, Gongsun saw that the helicopter seemed to be leaving. The man who had just fallen from the rope had fallen to who knows where. The hillsides on either side of the gorge were slippery slopes, so he shouldn't have fallen to his death, and now that the helicopter was running away, what was he going to do?

Ma Han looked up at the helicopter flying away, somewhat unsure of what to do next – He couldn't just shoot it down, could he?

But just as he was hesitating for a moment, suddenly, a gunshot rang out in the distance.

There was a burst of electrical sparks on the helicopter's propeller, and the whole aircraft instantly lost its balance, hitting one of the cliff walls head-on before exploding and falling into the valley.

Bai Yutang saw it clearly and frowned, "Who fired that shot?"

"It shouldn't be Ma Han." Bai Chi hurriedly said.

Zhao Hu and Gongsun looked at each other, looking at the barrel of Ma Han's gun to see if it was smoking.

Ma Han looked up at the two men for a long time before saying, "It could have been Eleven!"

"And then what?" Gongsun looked puzzled.

Just as everyone was having the same doubts, suddenly...

There was a 'fu' sound in the middle of the canyon, as if someone had lit a match and thrown it into the wind, or perhaps someone had blown on a candle that was burning.

After a moment of silence, there was a sudden 'boom' and the whole canyon burst into flames... A blaze, like the abyss of Hell, blindingly extraordinary.

"Ah!" Gongsun suddenly clapped his hands, "The canyon is full of bones, which contain a lot of phosphorus, which can be ignited..." At this point, Gongsun patted his head, "No, it's not as though he had added an accelerant...."

As soon as the word "accelerant" was uttered, the fire suddenly glowed brightly, just like a firework, with white smoke scattering in all directions with a dazzling light.

Everyone watched with their mouths wide open... How should I put it, it was impossible to say whether it was pretty or not, but the chaotic white, the burning red, and the slightly ghastly rocks of the mountain carried an eerie distortion.

"It's the effect of white phosphorus ammunition." Ma Han looked confused.

"What's white phosphorus munition?" Ma Xin didn't quite understand.

"Lass, white phosphorus burns extremely easily when in contact with oxygen, and once it's attached to something, it won't go out until it burns out." Eugene said slowly.

Ma Xin pouted, "I scored full marks in chemistry, don't show off. "

The corners of Eugene's mouth twitched, and Zhao Hu helped explain in everyday language, "White phosphorus ammunition, shot towards the sky are flares, shot towards the ground are bombs"

Ma Xin slightly opened her mouth, "A weapon?!"

……

"It's probably fuel for the incinerator." Bai Jintang looked at the canyon that was burning to a crisp in front of him. Fortunately they were behind a corner and the fire hadn't spread over, so it seemed to have been dealt with.

When Zhan Zhao looked up again, Zhao Jue was gone.

"Yutang." Zhan Zhao alerted Bai Yutang, "Zhao Jue is gone!"

Bai Yutang wasn't really surprised, instead he moved over and whispered to him, "Didn't you notice?"

"Notice what?" Zhan Zhao wondered.

"Bao Sir has disappeared too!" Bai Yutang said.

Everyone turned to look around together – Bao Zheng had snuck away at some point!

"Tch!" Zhan Zhao stomped his foot, frustrated, "I can't believe I didn't prepare for this. He must have made a deal with Zhao Jue, he got what he wanted, and Zhao Jue did what he wanted to do. In the end, we came here to help others, and worked for nothing without getting paid!"

After saying that, he was about to run off to find Bao Zheng.

Bai Yutang grabbed him by the arm, "Don't go. "

Zhan Zhao turned back indignantly and looked at Bai Yutang with dissatisfaction, "This is a rare opportunity..."

"I know." Bai Yutang nodded, "But now the valley is full of white phosphorus, coming into contact with it would be disastrous!"

Zhan Zhao looked at the still burning canyon in the distance and ground his teeth, still unwilling.

"Don't worry." Bai Yutang suddenly took out the digital map Jiang Ping had prepared for them earlier, and a red dot was moving around on it.

Zhan Zhao looked at Bai Yutang curiously, "How?"

Bai Yutang raised an eyebrow and showed Zhan Zhao his sleeve, "I tore off two buttons earlier, one is in Bao Sir's pocket and one is in Zhao Jue's pocket.

Zhan Zhao was stunned for a long time before suddenly holding Bai Yutang's face and fiercely taking a bite, "Genius!"

Bai Yutang was extremely embarrassed, and the crowd asked, "So what's next?"

Bai Jintang looked at the crowd with a look of contempt, "There is a fire, of course we call 119!"

……

After a long period of silence, Bai Chi took out his cell phone and called for a fire truck.

In fact, there was no need for them to do so, as the fire department and police station had all been alerted by such a big commotion.

Zhan Zhao and the others withdrew after their success, leaving the captain of the SWAT team, who still felt like he had forgotten something important but just couldn't remember, and a group of SWAT team members as well as the rescued children, waiting for the arrival of the local police.

The group followed Bao Zheng's route of travel on the digital map and found a path... which was completely unaffected by the fire and went all the way to the east.

At the mouth of a bend in the canyon, Zhan Zhao and the others intercepted Bao Zheng.

Bao Zheng was holding a large bag in his hand and looked at the crowd awkwardly.

Bai Yutang pointed to Luo Tian and pointed to the large bag in Bao Zheng's hand, "Luo Tian, help Bao Sir get the evidence back to SCI."

"Oh." Luo Tian went over and took the large bag, opened the black bag and found that inside was a bundle of information as well as a laptop.

Zhan Zhao took out the information and flipped through it, pulling out a very thick sheet of coated paper, and saw that it was an extremely clear topographical map. Bai Yutang also flipped through the information and asked Bao Zheng with a frown, "Bao Sir... what is this?"

Bao Zheng rubbed his chin and looked at the sky.

Bai Chi came up, "Ah? Isn't this the information on the unsolved drug case from before?"

Zhao Zhen raised his eyebrows, "Oh… it turns out to be information on a completely unrelated case."

Bai Chi flipped through most of the information at an inhuman speed, "Wow... there's information on a dozen major unsolved cases!"

Zhan Zhao gritted his teeth and looked at Bao Zheng, "Is this the quid pro quo?"

Bao Zheng was embarrassed, "So what..."

Bai Yutang was also helpless, after all this, there wasn't even information on Zhao Jue's case, so it was no wonder that Zhan Zhao was disappointed.

"There's no excuse." Zhan Zhao frowned, "Zhao Jue said there was a benefit for me, and he usually keeps his word."

Everyone gathered around to look at the digital map – but Zhao Jue's red dot was right here, not moving. Looking around, there was no sign of Zhao Jue.

Zhan Zhao reached out to touch the bottom of the black bag, and sure enough, he felt a button.

The crowd was discouraged – He had slipped away.

"Where is Zhao Jue?" Bai Yutang asked Bao Zheng.

Bao Zheng hesitated for a moment and pointed behind him, "He went that way."

Seeing that Zhan Zhao and the others were about to chase after him, Bao Zheng spoke, "Actually, he did leave something for you guys."

Everyone froze faintly.

Bao Zheng took out a cell phone and called someone, said a few words, hung up and told the crowd, "The helicopter burned down, but the people on the plane did not die, they are all in the valley. There are two with mild burns, and they were all arrested."

Zhan Zhao's eyes instantly lit up, "What about the ghost?"

Bao Zheng shook his head, "He ran away early this morning."

The crowd cast a sceptical look at him.

Bao Zheng smiled helplessly, "He really ran away, at least I'm not capable of catching him, as for the others... it's not something I can control." After saying that, he slowly walked away.

Zhan Zhao watched Bao Zheng walk away and felt that something seemed to be missing.

"Ahem."

At this moment, Zhao Zhen suddenly coughed.

Everyone looked at him.

Zhao Zhen spread his hands and had various things in his hands: a leather wallet, two cell phones, an electronic notepad, a notebook, a business card holder... and so on.

"Zhen...." Bai Chi looked at him confused, "What is that?"

Zhao Zhen blinked, "The stuff on Bao Sir’s body, I just grabbed it. You guys can pick through it, I'll send it back when you're done."

Bai Yutang pressed his twitching eyelids, and Bai Jintang patted Zhao Zhen's shoulder, "I like your style of work!"

Zhan Zhao hurriedly flipped through it without a trace of guilt.

Not able to watch, Bai Yutang took Luo Tian and climbed up a mountain wall to look around with his night vision binoculars.

After flipping through them for a while, Zhan Zhao's attention focused on the black leather-covered notebook.

He quickly flipped through the notes, frowning the more he read, and when he finally finished, Zhan Zhao's face changed slightly, shoving the notebook and everything else to Zhao Zhen, "Hurry up and put it back, or he's going to be furious!"

Zhao Zhen hurriedly took Bai Chi and left.

Bai Jintang looked at Zhan Zhao with a puzzled expression, "What is it?"

Zhan Zhao looked at Bai Jintang and hesitated for a moment, not saying anything.

Bai Jintang was baffled by him, but before he could ask, he heard Bai Yutang calling out to the crowd from above.

Soon after, Bai Yutang and Luo Tian jumped down from the hillside and led the crowd ahead, saying "We found it", but the crowd didn't know what they had found.

As they walked along the uneven ground of the valley, Bai Yutang noticed that Zhan Zhao's face was slightly pale, as if he was troubled by something. It was rare for Zhan Zhao to be like this, when he encountered a problem or couldn't figure out something, his expression was usually excited. What happened?

Bai Yutang subconsciously looked at Bai Jintang, who could only shrug – He was also puzzled.

The crowd kept going east for a long, long time before they saw a large Jeep parked next to the road at the mouth of the valley ahead.

In front of the Jeep, there was a black figure lying on the ground.

Bai Yutang pulled out his gun, and Luo Tian flanked him, only to find that the person lying on the ground was dead.

Zhan Zhao walked over and crouched down to check.

Bai Yutang recognised the unmasculine looking man and told Zhan Zhao, "The last ghost."

Zhan Zhao pointed to the corpse's leg, where he saw a bloody hole.

Bai Yutang crouched down and examined it, looking at Zhan Zhao in confusion, "It should have been caused by a sniper from above, just at the moment when he was about to open the door."

Zhan Zhao shook his head meaninglessly, "Zhao Jue spoke of the best way to punish a person. "

"Give him hope then let him down?" Bai Yutang said out and shook his head again, "It's give him hope then let him die..."

"How did this person die?" Luo Tian looked at the corpse with its eyes open and looking at the bright starry sky above. The only thing on his body was a gunshot hole in his calf. There was no reason, and there wasn't too much bleeding, so why did he die?

"Poisoned?"

"Shot." Zhan Zhao suddenly reached out and used his fingers to make an impression of a gun, and pressed his index finger against the forehead of the corpse.

Bai Jintang reached out and pressed the corpse's forehead, and there was indeed a dented spot...

"Did Zhao Jue kill him..." Bai Jintang muttered to himself, "This death really defies common sense."

Bai Yutang walked to the side of the car, squatted down and took a look. There were ten or so broken test tubes on the ground, and a pile of paper ashes that had been burned black, leaving nothing at all, which had dissipated a little from the mountain wind blowing through.

"Beep beep......"

Attracted by the sound of a car horn, the crowd looked up into the distance and saw a black car parked on the far side of the mountain road.

The passenger side window of the car was open, and Zhao Jue was slumped over it, giving the crowd a flying kiss.

The moment he turned back to close the window, the crowd saw that it was Bai Ye who was driving.

The car quickly disappeared down the dark road, disappearing without a trace at a speed that did not allow the crowd to catch up.

Zhan Zhao sighed and looked at Bai Yutang, "The case is considered closed."

"Do you still have any questions?" Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao.

Zhan Zhao shook his head.

Bai Yutang smiled, "That's good."

Zhan Zhao turned around and left with the crowd.

The handwriting on the notebook that Bao Zheng had in his pocket just now belonged to Zhao Jue, it was a diary written by Zhao Jue in a certain year twenty years ago. In that diary, some things were recorded. Zhan Zhao knew that that was what Zhao Jue had really promised him, the gift he had given him. The night back then was so dark that even though he lifted just a small corner and peered inside, Zhan Zhao found it shocking and unbearable.

......

Three days later, the group packed up their things and prepared to go back to S City.

Bai Jintang received a text message from Zhao Jue saying he liked the train office so much and gave him an address for express delivery to another city.

This chore was of course left to the twins. Da Ding and Xiao Ding found a few container trucks and also used a transport plane, making for a magnificent scene.

Bai Yutang had been observing Zhan Zhao's changes over the past few days, and apart from the first night when he was dazed for the whole night, he was all normal. Now he was completely back to normal, and his whole being seemed to be a lot more relaxed and lively.

Bai Yutang didn't ask him, if he wanted to talk about it, Zhan Zhao would naturally tell him. The fact that Zhan Zhao didn't say anything was definitely not because he wanted to hide anything, but because he might not know how to start talking. Of course, Bai Yutang would wait and was in no hurry.

When the crowd finished packing up and was ready to leave, they couldn't find Ma Han.

Zhao Hu pursed his lips and shook his head, "He went out early in the morning, said he had some business to do and told us to go back on our own, that there is no need to wait for him."

Zhan Zhao looked at Bai Yutang.

Bai Yutang was not in a hurry anyway, so he asked Zhao Hu to send a text message to tell Ma Han to come to the airport to regroup after he finished his business.

......

At that moment, in the parking lot in front of T University, in front of a big black jeep, a man in black was loading two large boxes into the trunk of the car.

"A corpse and a gun, are you going to hit the road just like that?"

A voice came from behind him.

The man in black turned around, he was wearing sunglasses and had a bandage on his forehead, which appeared to be covering an abrasion.

Slamming the trunk shut and taking off his sunglasses, it was Eleven's face. He looked behind him at Ma Han, who had nothing with him and his hands in his trouser pockets, also dressed in black.

"You've grown up, you won't need me anymore." Eleven spoke up, "That was a few good shots yesterday."

Ma Han stared at him, "You worked with Zhao Jue because you wanted to avenge Black K?"

Eleven raised an eyebrow nonchalantly, "Sort of."

"So is the revenge done?" Ma Han asked.

"It's just beginning." Eleven smiled faintly, "How can the curtain fall when you've just started the prologue."

Ma Han frowned, "It was Ghost who killed your partner, and now that Ghost is dead, you want to continue being a killer?"

"He wasn't my partner." Eleven shook his head, "He was the only being in the world like me, and I'm not seeking revenge, it's just that some people deserve to pay the price, and that includes us."

Ma Han frowned, but had no chance to speak.

Eleven went on, "Your skills are flawless, but you're not cut out to be a killer, only a cop, do you know why?"

Ma Han shook his head.

"After all this time, you still haven't figured out why?" Eleven put his glasses back on, "But it doesn't matter, you're young and have plenty of time, you'll find the answer when it's all over." With that, he opened the car door and got in, and as he turned the car around and drove past Ma Han, he stopped for a moment.

"Say hello to Bai Yutang for me." Eleven pulled out a cigarette, "And Zhan Zhao."

"When is it going to be over?" Ma Han reached out and pulled out a lighter to light a cigarette for him.

Eleven's eyes subconsciously looked towards the lighter that had been shot through with a bullet as the cigarette was lit, with red and black dark smoke.

"There is always an end." Eleven shrugged indifferently, "Nothing lasts forever." With that, he started the car and left.

......

On the plane, Zhao Hu and Ma Xin were playing Fight the Landlord and a group of people gathered around to watch, and their banter was lively.

Bai Yutang leaned against Lisbon's thick back in a daze.

"Hey." Zhan Zhao patted his knee and handed him over a cup of coffee.

Bai Yutang took the coffee and asked Zhan Zhao, "Speaking of which, who was it that killed Xin Xin by mistake back then?"

"It was the bullet." Zhan Zhao lay down against Lisbon, next to Bai Yutang, holding a steaming cup of coffee in his hand.

"A bullet?" Bai Yutang looked at him.

"Do you know why Eleven taught Ma Han to shoot, and why the first thing he did was tell him not to cause collateral damage?"

Bai Yutang shook his head, "Can't it be said that killers can have a kind heart?"

"Heh." Zhan Zhao shook his head, "It's because of fondness."

"What does that mean?" Bai Yutang did not understand.

"Killers may not be kind, but everyone has fondness. The way Ma Han lifted the barrel of Eleven's gun when he was a kid made Eleven fond of the kid, that's all." Zhan Zhao said slowly, "If you were fond of a person, what would you do?"

Bai Yutang nodded slightly, "Try to prevent him from being harmed."

"To teach a person with Ma Han's living environment and natural character is to make sure that he avoids a lifetime of regret for mistakenly hurting others with his abilities." Zhan Zhao turned his words around, "And if you loved a young child like Xin Xin who lived in a turbulent environment and a land of killers, what would you teach him?"

Bai Yutang frowned slightly, "Teach him how to avoid being hurt."

"Put it bluntly."

"Teach him how to be in places where he won't get hit by bullets." Bai Yutang frowned, "Xin Xin remembered that, so he hid in that corner when the shootout occurred, which led to him being wounded by a stray bullet?"

"What matters isn't who fired that one bullet." Zhan Zhao took a sip of his coffee, "What matters is that you originally wanted to save someone, but instead you killed someone. It's like the heavens are constantly in your ears reminding you how inauspicious you are, how you bring calamity to people and make them restless, it's simply a hundred times more torturous."

"And what Zhao Jue called a surprise..."

"It is venting, as well as taking their anger out on someone else." Zhan Zhao smiled lightly, "Whoever hurts the person he loves, even if it is fate, must be destroyed. Even if the ending is death, it must be the most beautiful funeral, the most beautiful requiem, to give a send-off to the happiness that never belonged to them."

Bai Yutang held his coffee cup, looking lost in thought, "He destroyed all the places and people related to Xin Xin's death for Bai Ye, moving the blame for everything that happened..."

Zhan Zhao nodded, “As a whole, Zhao Jue is only calm on the surface, his feelings are hysterical, whether it's love or hate."

"When Bai Ye was leaving, he looked helpless." Gongsun, who had been eavesdropping since some point, joined in the conversation, "He also said he didn't like it."

"He indeed shouldn't like it." Zhan Zhao smiled faintly, "Zhao Jue is letting him learn to hate fate instead of hating himself."

"Has Zhao Jue gone so crazy that while others are obeying fate or resisting fate, he wants to take revenge on fate?" Bai Yutang frowned, "Self-destructive..."

"As his guardian," Zhan Zhao reminded, "Bai Ye will indeed have a headache."

"He wants Bai Ye to be as crazy as him to the end..." Gongsun was helpless, "Is this a different kind of abnormal and extreme love? "

“Tsk tsk." Zhan Zhao waved his hand, "No need to think of him as too complicated, he's just a bad kid who simply doesn't want to be bad alone and wants a companion, that's all."

......

"Ah-choo..." Zhao Jue rubbed his nose and sleepily rolled over to look at Bai Ye beside him.

Bai Ye, on the other hand, looked back at the man in the back seat of the car who was tied up and still gagged, frowning at Zhao Jue, "What are you planning to do by creating the illusion that he's dead and bringing him back?"

Zhao Jue lightly pressed his lips with his index finger and smiled wickedly, "Of course I'm preparing for the next chapter, this is just the prelude, it won't end that easily."
