My Vampire Faints at Blood Chapter 57
"It might be difficult. Your long distance friend's owner should have a preference for short-legged dogs and long-legged horses – It's probably too late to saw your legs, so you could try to see if you can develop in the direction of a horse." Looking at the werewolf butler who was full of the idea of going on holiday abroad, the knowledgeable Doctor Shang patted him on the shoulder and cruelly crushed the half-breed husky's dream of living through his face.
"Really?! What kind of weird aesthetic is this, what's so great about short little legs!" The dream that had been so easily born was actually shattered just like that, and He Jialun sat up straight in disbelief. As he anxiously asked a question, there was a sudden muffled sound, and the whole car seemed to shake with it.
"Oh no, we can't have hit anything..." The werewolf butler's face changed slightly, and he couldn't be bothered with the length of his legs. He opened the door and jumped out of the car. He searched carefully, but found nothing. "That's odd, could it be that one of the ghosts just figured out how to materialise and let me run into it?"
There was a vague feeling that something was not right. Shang Haojia glanced outside and saw the basket sitting unattended on the passenger seat, and his heart suddenly sank: "Something's wrong – close the door!"
No sooner had the words left his lips when a dark shadow came in from under the car, grabbed the basket in its mouth, and leapt out the window.
The vampire was not slow to react, opening the door and chasing after him almost at the same moment. He had only taken two steps forward following the scent when a flash of blood suddenly appeared in his eyes and he rolled to one side before a blindingly bright light suddenly exploded from where he had just been standing.
"Holy light bullets..." A burning pain suddenly came from his body. Wei Long braced himself on the ground and stood up, his eyes already turned a pureblood colour. "What – are the honourable hunters, who are the keepers of order, actually involved in this kind of robbery?"
"What a joke! How could those pedantic bloodhunter clans agree to such a thing? If I can steal your eggs, I can steal the holy bullets just the same. That bar owner only knows how to listen to songs, and with a little trickery, I got my hands on the stuff." From the shadows came a boisterous voice, and a werewolf paced out with his hands behind his back, looking smugly at the king of the bloods before him: "Aren't you great? How dare you talk about avenging your brother – Come on, come bite me if you can!"
"Second Young Master, you can't answer like that next time. You have to say that this holy bullet was given to you by the hunter, only then can you re-start the strife between the bloodhunter clan and the blood clan, and get the title of the family's new king of troublemaking..." Only when his words fell did the old werewolf beside him hasten to speak, earnestly imparting the valuable experience accumulated over generations: "This is a very important point of knowledge, to become an excellent heir of the Zhen family, you must remember and use it skillfully to–"
"I won't! I stole something with my ability, so why should I say it was given to me!" The werewolf known as Second Young Master raised his head stubbornly and grunted defiantly, clearly half listening to the old werewolf's teachings. The werewolf's body sprang up, his silvery white fur instantly covering his body, and he waved his hand in the direction of the half-breed husky who was just figuring out the situation. "That werewolf over there, for the sake of your own kind, I won't give you a hard time. Hurry up and take that obstructive human away. I, Zhen Xi, am going to single out this legendary pureblood king today!"
"My dear, can you go home with Jialun and wait for me first? He's one of the most powerful opponents I've ever seen, and I'm worried I won't be able to protect you..." Feeling the unusually strong power in the other man brought a bit of caution to the vampire's eyes. Lowering his voice, he leaned down and explained to the human doctor still sitting in the car.
"There's no hurry – given the situation at hand, I think we can still try to outsmart him." Seeing the other man's transformed form and hearing the name he gave, the human doctor took on a slightly thoughtful look in his eyes. Disregarding the vampire's dissuasion, he got out of the car and looked at the werewolf in front of him with interest. "Hello, may I first confirm that you are a werewolf and pomeranian hybrid?"
"What a stupid human, can a pomeranian have such long legs?! My parent race is the noble and elegant Arctic fox, also known as the snow fox or white fox, found mainly in Siberia and the tundra of North America – that's the knowledge point! Write that down for me!" Zhen Xi tilted his head proudly and recited a long, whopping list, then pulled a small blackboard out of nowhere and tapped it as hard as he could twice.
"I know, it's one of those white foxes that bumps its head against the ground. I've seen the animations of you hunting for food, and I've always felt sincere emotion and admiration for the fact that your race can still maintain their looks when they hit the ground face first." As a science student, Doctor Shang ruthlessly ignored the geographic highlights underlined by Teacher Snow Fox. With a casual nod and a glance around, he pulled his vampire to stand on the stone paved boulevard. "Okay – now listen to me, you just stand here and don't move. Don't do anything, just dodge when he comes over."
Looking at his human's certainty, the vampire raised his eyebrows slightly with some surprise, but nodded obediently and looked over at the half-blood snow fox whose face had suddenly changed, "Since you are the one who proposed the battle, it will be I who will decide how to fight, now you can attack me."
"... I, I'm not going to fall for your trick, you're just too cunning!" The road was paved not with cobblestones, but with asphalt mixed with small pieces of gravel of all kinds. The hybrid snow fox, who could only jump down, took one look at the jagged little stones and couldn't help but feel a pain in the top of his head, shivering subconsciously and taking a step back with his fur raised.
Although he had given in for the time being, the second son of the Zhen family, whose goal was to cause trouble, was obviously not willing to give in. With a glance around, his eyes suddenly lit up and he snatched the basket from his attendant's hands, clutching it to his chest in triumph. "I don't dare to go up and hit you, and you don't dare to come up and bite me – I'll just smash this whatever-it-is dragon egg in front of you, and see if the dragons come after you!"
"......" Shang Haojia rubbed the corner of his forehead, glanced sympathetically at the second young master of the Zhen family who was still gloating, and looked inquiringly at He Jialun who was walking around anxiously at the side, "Let me ask one more question, after you werewolves are born, is it possible that you can only choose between combat power and intelligence?"
"What kind of nonsense is that, is my fighting ability that weak?!" Feeling as if he was being questioned as well, the half-breed husky disgruntledly took off his outer coat and revealed a toned muscular body. Not to be outdone, his body shot up instantly, but just as he took on the shape of a wolf, he couldn't stop sneezing one after another and had to change back immediately.
"I thought it was bad enough that werewolves like my eldest brother were forbidden from transforming into werewolves, but there are really werewolves who can't transform into werewolves – it's a disgrace to the werewolf clan. Is your tail growing out just for the sake of shaking around?" Seeing that He Jialun was actually embarrassed by his transformation, Zhen Xi's fighting spirit burned again, sneering in disbelief and flicking his ears towards him again in a showy manner.
Being mocked by the opponent in this way, He Jialun's eyes showed some anger, and as he was about to stride over, he was pulled back by the human doctor with a quick hand: "Calm down, no matter how good your human state is physically, there is no way you can beat his attack. Let him have that basket if he likes, there's more than just a Bi'an egg in there, there's a little Taotie too..."
"Do you think I can't hear you just because you keep your voice so low? I'm telling you, snow foxes have particularly acute hearing, and that's the second knowledge point!" Zhen Xi proudly raised the corner of his mouth. Rummaging inside the basket, he grabbed a sleepy-eyed kitten: "This thing is a Taotie? It's a bit too shabby for its size – but it's small enough to have some meat, so you're lucky to be my Zhen Xi's extra meal..."
"Extra meal!" As soon as he heard these two words, the little guy's eyes instantly lit up. Easily breaking free from his grip, he grasped his arm and crawled upwards relentlessly, "Zhen Xi – Ice cream! Vanilla! Extra meal!"
Seeing the little one say more and more phrases under the stimulation of food, Doctor Shang rubbed the corner of his forehead, and for a moment, he actually felt a bit of relief that his cat was growing up: "Yes, Brother Snow Fox has ice cream, it's hidden on him, find it and it's yours."
"Ice cream!!!" With the strong temptation of an extra meal, the little Taotie's excitement was quickly aroused, and he was picking at the silvery-white wolf fur to find it. He was so small and agile that Zhen Xi couldn't do anything about it, and in the middle of the frenzy, he felt a swift breeze pass before him and the basket was back in the hands of the vampire who had taken advantage of the situation.
"You... you're all so deceitful!" After fumbling all over his body, he failed to catch the little Taotie, and the Bi'an egg he had just gotten was snatched back. Zhen Xi was so angry that he couldn't stop trembling. He suddenly leapt onto the roof of the car and howled a mournful howl at the small orange cat on top of his head.
"Oh no, that's the signal that the werewolves use to summon their companions – their target should be you, so hurry up and go back with Doctor Shang first, I'll delay them here for a while. We're at least of the same kind, so they won't give me too much trouble." Hearing that wolf howl, He Jialun's face suddenly changed slightly, and he lowered his voice to give a quick explanation to Wei Long.
The group attacks of werewolves had always been the most headache-inducing for other races. The vampire's gaze sank slightly as he exchanged glances with his human, and he was contemplating how to get out of the way when a familiar voice suddenly came from beneath his feet.
"Five thunderous warriors, train generals, soar to the heavens and fall to the earth, drive thunder and run to the clouds. The army of ten thousand, commanding the divine army, raising the flag and summoning them urgently, without delay. Hastily as the law commands – get out of the way, you're stepping on the manhole cover!"

The new character really spelled trouble. I admired Doctor Shang could stay calm and deceive Zhen Xi.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if tje characters that appeared in the end would turn out to be allies.
