How did the members of SCI celebrate the New Year on the night of the 30th day of the lunar calendar?

The gate of the villa.

“Chi Chi, what did you buy?” Zhao Zhen saw Bai Chi getting out of the car with a very large bag of things. It looked very thrilling as the pile of things felt bigger than him.

“Zhen, come and help… Um…” Bai Chi was excited when he saw Zhao Zhen and breathed a sigh of relief, as he was overwhelmed by all of the things he was carrying.

“Chi Chi!” Zhao Zhen screamed in surprise, rushed over, and together with Lisbon, rescued Bai Chi who was buried alive by a lot of sweets and snacks.

“Huh… almost suffocated.” After Bai Chi was rescued, he sat on the ground.

“What did you buy?” Zhao Zhen laughed.

“Oh, it’s all snacks.” Bai Chi smiled, “There are so many people today, we didn’t buy enough for everyone to eat!”

“Why did you buy so much to eat?” Zhao Zhen helped him tidy up the things, “Mother Bai and Mother Zhan bought a lot.”

“Huh?” Bai Chi was excited, “The two mothers are here?”

“That’s right!” Zhao Zhen nodded, “Not only them, but your father, others from SCI, and even my uncle are here.”

“Huh?” Bai Chi was taken aback, jumped up, and asked, “Zhao Jue is here too?”

Zhao Zhen was a little jealous, “Why are you so happy that Zhao Jue is here? He could be your father at his age.”

“Hehe.” Bai Chi smiled and got up, and he and Zhao Zhen entered the house with the large bag of food. Behind them, Lisbon opened a large bag of potato chips, took a bite, and stuck out his tongue, spicy!

As soon as he walked into the living room, Bai Chi understood what lively meant; the living room was already crowded!

The kitchen was full of women. Because the two mothers are here, Bai Yutang no longer has to cook for the family’s New Year’s Eve dinner. In addition to Mother Bai and Mother Zhan, there are also a few young girls in the kitchen – Ma Xin, Chen Jiayi, and Qi Le also came and were all helping.

In the living room, a large group of people gathered together, and there were exclamations from time to time.

“Zhao Jue.” Zhan Zhao came over, hugging the little lion at his side.

Bai Chi stuck out his tongue and asked, “Then the other party is going to lose?”

“Not necessarily,” Bai Yutang smiled, “he is playing cards with Hu Zi.”

“Oh~~” Zhao Zhen laughed, “It seems that a high IQ can’t necessarily beat good luck!”

“Luck is actually the most important thing while playing cards.” Zhan Zhao smiled, “I can count the cards but I still can’t beat Hu Zi, his luck with cards is too good!”

“That’s right!” Bai Chi nodded, “Hu Zi’s luck is amazing, I heard he hasn’t lost a card game, right?”

“En,” Bai Yutang smiled, “the myth of the undefeated police officer, even Cat can’t beat him.”

While they were talking, Zhao Jue walked out angrily and said, “Stop playing! It’s so annoying!”

Zhan Zhao laughed, “What, do you sometimes admit defeat?”

Zhao Jue narrowed his eyes and glanced at Zhan Zhao, “Bad cat!” After he spoke, he snatched the little lion, and went to the bar to pour a drink.

The remaining group of people played cards with Zhao Hu, each taking turns to play against him. Having eventually been defeated, Zhao Hu was very angry!

Bai Yutang looked around and asked Gongsun, “Where is Brother?”

“He just went upstairs,” Zhan Zhao said, “I saw him go up, it seems that there is official business to deal with.”

“Does he still have official business on New Year’s Eve?” Bai Chi asked, “Big Brother is so busy.”

“I’ll bring him down,” Gongsun turned upstairs and said, “It’s time to eat.”

In Bai Jintang’s study on the second floor, he was giving a document all of his attention. As he heard a knock on the door, he looked up and saw Gongsun standing at the door with his arms folded, who smiled and asked, “How is it, busy bee?”

Bai Jintang smiled, put down the document, and reached out to him, “Come here.”

“You come here.” Gongsun leaned on the door and smiled at him.

Bai Jintang raised the corner of his mouth and asked, “Are you tempting me?”

Gongsun raised his eyebrows, “Can you resist the temptation?”

Bai Jintang stood up and walked to him, bowed his head, and kissed him, “I can’t resist it at all.”

Gongsun, who was kissed twice by him, stretched his hand out and grabbed his tie, “Follow me downstairs.”

“What are we doing downstairs?” Bai Jintang asked helplessly, “So noisy.”

“Huh?” Gongsun smiled, “Didn’t you say you couldn’t resist at all?”

Bai Jintang raised his eyebrows, “It’s okay to go downstairs, but we will celebrate New Year’s Eve all night long.”

Gongsun smiled, “Okay, you go play a game of cards with Zhao Hu.”

“Play cards?” Bai Jintang was puzzled.

“I heard Eugene say that you are very good at playing cards.” Gongsun laughed.

“I rely on luck and frightening people.” Bai Jintang said indifferently, “When it comes to playing cards, Xiao Zhao, Zhao Jue, and Bai Chi are all amazing, right?”

“En, they can count the cards, that’s nothing rare, but they have good luck!” Gongsun pulled Bai Jintang downstairs.

Downstairs, Zhao Hu had already killed three parties and was about to close his stall for a while to eat, but he heard Gongsun say, “There is one more person.”

Bai Jintang sat down and listened to Bai Yutang’s words, “Brother, are you here to be humiliated too?”

Bai Jintang raised his eyebrows, looked at Zhao Hu, and asked everyone, “Is there anything extraordinary?”

Zhao Jue narrowed his eyes and spoke coldly, “Dog shit luck!” (Angel: While this sounds like Zhao Hu has bad luck, it is actually an ironic saying for really good luck.)

Bai Jintang was taken aback. Everyone beside him, as well as Zhao Hu himself, nodded.

Bai Jintang couldn’t laugh or cry. Looking at Gongsun, he seemed to say – You brought me here to be taken down?

Gongsun smirked – Winning or losing is interesting.

“Oh!” The twins whispered to Bai Chi, who was looking at him curiously, “If Big Brother loses this game of cards, it will be the first time! There must be a lot of people who want to see it!”

“Go get the DV!” Xiao Ding told Da Ding, “Sell it for 100 million to Leonard later! We will be rich!”

“Okay!” Da Ding hurried to get the DV.

Luo Yang also joined the fun, standing on a small bench and dealing cards to the two adults.

After the deck of cards was dealt, the two shuffled their cards. Zhao Hu was shocked, but he played… When he made a pair, Bai Jintang made a pair, but Zhao Hu couldn’t keep up with Bai Jintang, as a result… after a few rounds, Zhao Hu lost.

Everyone was dumbfounded. Gongsun narrowed his eyes slightly, “I’ll deal the cards!” After saying that, he walked over and dealt to the two of them.

This time, Zhao Hu didn’t even show a single card, he lost cleanly.

“Heh…” Everyone gasped.

“Cat, is this a psychological problem or a feng shui problem?” Bai Yutang asked Zhan Zhao.

Everyone looked up at the sky helplessly.

Zhao Hu grabbed the corner of Ma Han’s clothes, “Xiao Ma… I’m hurt, the God of Luck has abandoned me!”

Ma Han pulled the corner of his clothes back and asked, “Why are you so abnormal?”

“I don’t know.” Zhao Hu said with a sad face, “Big Brother Bai is terrible!”

Everyone was helpless. Gongsun looked at Bai Jintang, “Get up, I will try!”

Bai Jintang shrugged and let Gongsun try… Once two decks of cards were played, Gongsun lost miserably.

Zhao Hu touched Gongsun’s shoulder, “Dr. Gongsun, I have confidence again! Thank you!”

Gongsun ground his teeth in anger.

Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang laughed at the side as Da Ding reluctantly closed the DV and said, “It’s not interesting at all.”

“Why is it boring?” Xiao Ding asked, “It can also be used, if we send it to Leonard, he will be angry!”

“En, that’s also a good thing!” Da Ding nodded and ran to burn the video to a disk.

Before long, a magnificent New Year’s Eve dinner was served. Everyone opened up their appetites and had a big meal. The table was extremely lively; the SCI members, along with Da Ding and Xiao Ding, were especially able to eat a lot, and the meal was eaten in constant laughter. At the side of the table, a row of animals were also eating their favourite foods.

Lisbon, Victor, the little white lion, Luban, and Lilia, arranged in order from largest to smallest, all had a food bowl in front of them filled with delicious foods.

Everyone rioted into the early morning, then dispersed.

Q Version of the New Year; Big Brother

On New Year’s Eve, when Xiao Zhan Zhao and Xiao Bai Yutang were five years old, Father Bai was out catching bad guys, Mother Bai and Mother Zhan were out for official business, and Father Zhan was working abroad. Only Xiao Zhan Zhao was left at home, and Xiao Bai Yutang only had Bai Jintang, who was just discharged from the hospital.

“Brother,” Xiao Bai Yutang pulled Bai Jintang’s sleeve, “what do we have for New Year’s Eve dinner?”

“When Mom left, she put something in the refrigerator.” Bai Jintang said.

“Brother,” Xiao Zhan Zhao pulled Bai Jintang’s sleeve, “do we have New Year’s gifts?”

Bai Jintang touched his head, “Mom said that she stuffed New Year’s money under your pillow when she was leaving.”

“Brother,” Xiao Bai Yutang pulled Bai Jintang’s sleeve, “are there any cakes for tonight?”

“Uh…” Bai Jintang opened the refrigerator and took a look, “there seems to be no cake. Shall I go out and buy one?”

“No,” Xiao Zhan Zhao grabbed Bai Jintang’s sleeve, “Mom said we can’t go out at night!”

Bai Jintang smiled, “I’m not a kid, I will go and come back.”

“No,” Xiao Bai Yutang also grabbed Bai Jintang’s sleeve, “Mom said that there are bad guys outside!” 

Bai Jintang was helpless being grabbed by the two small things, so he had to go and take the dishes from the refrigerator and heat them up.

Behind him, Xiao Bai Yutang and Xiao Zhan Zhao followed him like two little cats. Bai Jintang felt that they should have little hairy tails.

After eating a hearty New Year’s Eve dinner, the three of them played games in front of the heater.

Xiao Bai Yutang and Xiao Zhan Zhao kept winning. This is what childhood looks like, as long as they win, they are very happy… After playing until late at night, Bai Jintang took off the pile of paper sticking to his face. Looking at the two, he saw that Xiao Bai Yutang and Xiao Zhan Zhao had fallen asleep close together.

Picking up the two little things, Bai Jintang sent them back to their room, put them on the bed, covered them with a blanket, and turned off the lights, then went back to his own room to sleep.

That night, there was suddenly lightning and thunder outside, and there seemed to be hail.

Half-dreaming and half-awake, Bai Jintang felt something wrapping around him. Opening his eyes in a daze, he saw Xiao Bai Yutang crawling to his left and getting under the blanket. Turning his face, he saw Xiao Zhan Zhao get under the blanket on his right. Their four little hands wrapped around his waist.

Bai Jintang laughed and asked, “Afraid?”

Xiao Bai Yutang and Xiao Zhan Zhao pouted and hugged him tightly, “No, we are afraid Brother is afraid!”

Bai Jintang smiled helplessly, stretched his arm out to hug Xiao Zhan Zhao, moved him so that he could sleep well with Xiao Bai Yutang, and tucked them in. Turning sideways, he hugged the two little guys who were close to each other and went to sleep.
