Soon, there was chaos. The police came in to escort the criminals back to the police station. Fortunately, Ouyang Chun and the local police are very familiar with each other, so the communication went smoothly. The SCI members cooperated with the police investigation and Bai Yutang suggested that Ouyang Chun should keep the two werewolves in custody for use further into the investigation.

Everyone was busy, but Zhan Zhao, who was pulled downstairs by Bai Yutang earlier, got up from the sofa and went back upstairs. There were police officers collective the evidence upstairs, but he ignored them. Instead, he walked out onto the balcony and found Zhao Jue sitting outside quietly.

Zhan Zhao walked over and sat down opposite him. Zhao Jue raised his eyes to look at Zhan Zhao, then turned away; his face was a little unhappy.

“What are you doing?” Zhan Zhao asked puzzledly.

Zhao Jue had a brooding face, and spoke sullenly, “Ignoring you so I won’t be resented again.”

Zhan Zhao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Are you angry with Xiao Bai?”

Zhao Jue narrowed his mouth and turned away with dissatisfaction.

“Hey.” Zhan Zhao beckoned to Zhao Jue and asked, “Can I ask you something?”

Zhao Jue turned his face and blinked at Zhan Zhao.

“Between me and Xiao Bai, which one do you prefer?” Zhan Zhao asked a surprising question.

Zhao Jue returned to his normal temperament and he raised his face to look at Zhan Zhao. He was silent for a while before smiling, “Do you want to play with me?”

Zhan Zhao shook his head somewhat innocently, “What are you talking about? Don’t you have anything nice to say?”

“Heh…” Zhao Jue smiled, “I like both of you, but neither of you like me.” He pouted, “You don’t like me and that little tiger hates me.”

“Xiao Bai just doesn’t like you casually killing people.” Zhan Zhao said, “It’s just that he expresses it more seriously.”

Zhao Jue’s breath hitched, and he spoke lightly, “Is he afraid that you will become the same as me?”

“Luo Tian said that he saw you during Allen Poe’s experiment. However, I remember that this isn’t the first time you two met, you have seen each other during previous cases. Why didn’t he recognize you before?” Zhan Zhao asked Zhao Jue.

“Maybe he has a bad memory.” Zhao Jue shrugged indifferently, “How would I know?”

“I can’t see that being the case.” Zhan Zhao let out a low laugh. He leaned over to look at Zhao Jue’s eyes before standing up and walking over to the balcony railing and speaking lightly “For ordinary people, they can develop their intelligence, train their brains, and develop whole-brain thinking by training their eyes… This is the earliest prototype of pupil technique.”

Zhao Jue laughed and looked at Zhan Zhao, “Oh?”

“Hypnosis, divination… Those are both within the scope of pupil technique, but the most powerful technique has been lost for hundreds of years; the technique of ‘mingzhao’.” (Angel: Mingzhao, 明照, is one of the pupil techniques. It involves sleeping with your eyes open to train your eyes and brain.)

“Mingzhao has a background.” Zhan Zhao said indifferently. “Some people are born with it, but most people can be trained to develop their whole brain. “I said it a long time ago, but you can do it too.” Zhao Jue said with a smile, “The reason why Allen Poe is a fool is because he walked straight into a stupid dead end.”

Zhan Zhao nodded, “What he was developing was an ability that humans have already developed. In other words, he was not developing, he was simply enhancing.”

Zhan Zhao thought for a while and said “According to the research, if humans don’t sleep for three or more days, it will affect the body. It can cause their organs to stop functioning properly and can cause them to mentally break down… According to a journal from a Nazi concentration camp, the Nazi’s used forbidding sleep as a punishment.”

Zhao Jue looked at Zhan Zhao with some enjoyment and admired “You really have done some research on this topic.”

“Hahaha…” Zhao Jue laughed and shook his head. He looked at Zhan Zhao, “I realized this a lot slower than you did.”

Zhan Zhao raised his eyebrows, “You don’t need to belittle yourself. There was no convenient internet and not as much available information when you where researching… You are self-taught, whereas I just stand on the shoulders of giants.”

“That means that you can go even further than me.” Zhao Jue stared at Zhan Zhao seriously. “Farther and farther, beyond the limit of most human beings!”

“I’m not interested in techniques like killing people using your eyes.” Zhan Zhao said indifferently. “I’m only interested in the facts of the case… It’s not that Luo Tian has a bad memory, it’s just that you made him remember. Similar to how you gave me a prompt, or maybe it was something else.”

Zhao Jue slowly walked over to the railing. He looked at the police cars that still had their lights flashing downstairs and spoke quietly, “The human eye is actually unreliable. Everyone is confused by appearances… The wolf head is the werewolf and the tiger head is the tiger, but these are not the main points.”

Zhan Zhao nodded slightly, “The main point is that these people are outstanding.”

“This person is very ambitious.” Zhao Jue said and looked back at the door, “If you don’t go back, the little tiger is going to bite someone again.”

Zhan Zhao turned his face and saw that Bai Yutang was leaning against the door to the balcony, staring at them. It was unknown how long he had been standing there.

Zhan Zhao looked at Zhao Jue and said “Go to bed early, we have to go to Italy tomorrow morning.” After he spoke, he walked to the door.

“Why are you so stubborn?” Zhan Zhao returned to their room and stretched his hand out to pinch Bai Yutang’s cheek.

Bai Yutang reached out and grabbed Zhan Zhao’s hand. He pulled Zhan Zhao in front of him and asked “Can you hypnotize someone without talking?”

Zhan Zhao raised his eyebrows. “Theoretically, there is no requirement to use language to hypnotize… Moreover, many human behaviours have the ability to hypnotize, including suggestion.”

“I understand, no wonder I want to do it when I see you! It turns out that you have been giving me sexual hints this whole time!” Bai Yutang beamed.

Zhan Zhao raised his foot and kicked him, “What nonsense are you talking about?! Those are your own thoughts!”

“Are they?” Bai Yutang pressed Zhan Zhao down and kissed him.

“Xiao Bai!” Zhan Zhao felt that Bai Yutang was a little weird. He reached out and held his head so he could take a look at his expression. He squinted his eyes and asked “Are you jealous?”

Bai Yutang pressed Zhan Zhao down onto the bed and fiercely kissed him, “I waited at the door for a long time but you didn’t notice at all. All of your attention was on Zhao Jue.”

Zhan Zhao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “How could I notice you when you are so good at hiding and you deliberately don’t make noise?”

Bai Yutang looked down at Zhan Zhao with some discomfort in his expression, “Cat, I am afraid that you will be abducted by him.”

Zhan Zhao smiled and pinched Bai Yutang’s cheek, “Are you afraid that I have the same kind of abilities that he has?”

Bai Yutang nodded, “That’s not an ability that humans should have. Disaster will follow those people wherever they go. Where will they find happiness? I just want you to be happy.”

Zhan Zhao shook his head indifferently. He traced Bai Yutang’s sharp and handsome silhouette with his finger and spoke in a low voice, “If there comes a day where you are gone and I am the only one left, I might end up walking the same path as Zhao Jue.”

Bai Yutang looked at Zhan Zhao for a while, “Why?”

Zhan Zhao smiled softly, “Because without you, life is no longer meaningful to me.” After speaking, he reached out and gently pulled Bai Yutang’s collar, leaned in, and kissed him.
